    摘要: A 40 millimeter (mm) projectile is capable of deploying a payload out of the rear of the projectile. The projectile carries the payload an extended distance from the muzzle and then disperses the payload after a command is provided to the projectile. The projectile includes a proximity fuze which allows it to sense a target and disperse the payload at a given distance from the target. Alternatively, a time-based fuze or radio frequency (RF) based fuze may be employed instead. The payload may be used against a variety of targets, such as personnel, vehicle or aerial targets. In addition, the projectile could be used as a training device for proximity, preprogrammed or RF-controlled fuzed projectiles.

    摘要: Asteroid redirection and soft-landing systems are provided that use cosmic ray and muon-catalyzed micro-fusion. These systems include a micro-fusion propulsion system providing thrust for redirecting a small asteroid, as well as providing a particle cushion at a landing site for a soft-landing. The systems deploy deuterium-containing fuel material as a localized cloud interacting with incoming ambient cosmic rays to generate energetic fusion products. Dust or other particulate matter in the fuel material converts some cosmic rays into muons that also catalyze fusion. The fusion products provide thrusting upon the asteroid. The fusion products also aid deceleration of incoming asteroids to be mined for a soft landing upon a lunar or planetary surface.

    摘要: A timer key relating to monitoring a countdown time of a countdown routine of an electronic device is disclosed. The timer key comprises a processor configured to respond to a countdown time associated with operation of the electronic device, a display operably coupled with the processor, and a housing configured to house at least the processor. The housing has an associated structure configured to engage with the electronic device to share the countdown time between the electronic device and the timer key. The processor is configured to begin a countdown routine based at least in part on the countdown time, wherein the countdown routine is at least substantially synchronized with a countdown routine of the electronic device when the timer key is removed from the electronic device. A system and method for synchronizing countdown routines of a timer key and an electronic device are also disclosed.

    摘要: In this more cost-effective, less elaborate method, the disintegration time is calculated from a predetermined muzzle velocity and a distance to the target and is transmitted to a receiver coil prior to firing. The receiver coil is connected via a comparator circuit (7) and a decoder (8) with a shift register (9), whose output is connected to a first comparator (6), so that the disintegration time is present on the outputs of the latter. A first counter (1), which is connected with a clock generator (2) and a programmable counter (3), is unblocked or blocked by the start-stop pulses, supplied via the receiver coil, of a muzzle velocity measuring device. The programmable counter (3) forms a clock signal from the number of the clock pulses, added in the first counter (1) during the unblocked time, and of the clock generator frequency, whose frequency is equal to the muzzle velocity and is supplied via a is binary circuit (4) to a second counter (5). The output of the second counter (5) is connected with the first comparator (6), wherein a firing signal (Z) appears at the output of the first capacitor (6) when the counter reading of the second counter (5) and the reading of the shift register (9) are the same.

A pallet made of magnetically susceptable material and supported for repetitive movement is disposed within a generated magnetic field. The pallet is connected to the arming mechanism for corresponding movement therewith and is driven by the arming mechanism while arming. The magnetic field induces within the pallet, magnetic losses which retards the arming rate.

    摘要: An electronic firing device of a missile, enabling precise setting of a time delay from several milliseconds up to an hour or more, comprises an energy accumulator formed by a capacitor associated with an energy receiving coil charging the capacitor from an external signal. This signal has a low frequency energy-supply component and a high frequency signal having a series of pulse trains defining a decimal number up to, for example, 10.sup.7. The high frequency signal passes via a coded selective filter supplying, to a memory, a coded value defining a time delay. An oscillator triggered by a security switch supplies clock signals which are divided to provide 1 millisecond pulses counted in a coding circuit in the same code as the memory. This coding circuit and the memory are connected to a comparator which supplies a firing signal when the count reaches the memorized value.

    摘要: In a projectile carrying a plurality of payloads which are to be sequentially ejected, an electronic circuit for selectively firing ejection charges, which comprises a series of interlocked switches that are held in one position by the presence of the projectile backplate. Upon release of the backplate the switches assume a second position and thereby permit the application of voltage to an R-C network in which the capacitors charge up to a voltage sufficient to overcome a zener diode that in turn activates a silicon controlled rectifier via its conrol electrode. The rectifier is connected in series with an electrical energy source, ground interlock switches and a squib so as to fire the same sequentially after some selected period set by each of the R-C networks. The ground interlocks being connected so as to effectively short circuit the squibs prior to release of the backplate.

    摘要: A land mine to be detonated by strong vertical air currents produced by a decending helicopter. The mine includes a housing having a screened opening in one of the housing surfaces. A rotatable fan is located in the opening and a detonator is operated by the fan to ignite a high explosive in the mine housing. The fan is recessed from the housing surface to prevent horizontal wind reaction with the blades of the fan.
