摘要: The devices and methods described below provide for a plasticized, adhesive binary explosive mixture formed with nitromethane (NM) plasticized with nitrocellulose (NC) as an energetic component and a urethane resin mixed with any suitable mechanical sensitizer as the sensitizer component. The addition of the sensitizer component to the plasticized component of NM/NC causes the resulting gel mixture to become explosive while maintaining stability.

摘要: A sensitizing composition for generating gas bubbles in an energetic hydrogen peroxide emulsion is disclosed. The sensitizing composition comprises a liquid carrier, a solid hydrogen peroxide catalyst which is dispersed in the liquid carrier and; a coating agent which is non-soluble in hydrogen peroxide and in water and which is arranged to coat the solid hydrogen peroxide catalyst dispersed in the liquid carrier. A method of preparing such a sensitizing composition is also disclosed.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a fire starter that does not require oxygen from the air to ignite or maintain a flame and makes it easy to ignite using one or no fingers, such as teeth. A fire starter includes a burnable casing forming a sealed chamber. A first burnable mixture and a second burnable mixture are separately disposed in the sealed chamber. The first burnable mixture can form a flame without oxygen from the air. An igniter is disposed in the sealed chamber adjacent to the first burnable mixture and configured to generate a first thermal event to ignite the first burnable mixture without oxygen from the air. The first burnable mixture combusts during the first thermal event and triggers a second thermal event to ignite the second burnable mixture. An actuator is configured to activate the igniter to generate the first thermal event without using more than one finger.

摘要: A concealed amalgamated neutralizer covertly combines neutralizer material comprised of various combinations of inert materials such as calcium carbonate or silicates with common explosive material for the prevention of malicious use of the explosive material in improvised explosive devices. The concealed amalgamated neutralizer device may vary in shape, size, and color and is therefore adaptable to varying methods of containment typified by common pyrotechnic products. The neutralizer material mimics the explosive material of the pyrotechnic products without detection. Upon disassembly of a concealed amalgamated neutralizer device, the neutralizer material is mixed with and neutralizes the explosive material rendering the explosive material useless as a component for an improvised explosive device. A biodegradable container is also provided for the amalgamated neutralizer and the explosive material.

摘要: The invention is directed to a nitrogen gas generator comprising a housing having two ends, ignition means at one end of the housing and a gas outflow opening at the other end of the housing, a volume of a filter at the outflow opening, a volume of solid propellant comprising sodium azide, a binder, a coolant and between 1 and 10 wt % of iron (III) oxide. Between the ignition means and the volume of solid propellant an active layer is present. The active layer comprises between 60 and 90 wt % of sodium azide, between 1 and 15 wt % of a binder, between 0.1 and 10 wt % of a coolant and between 5 and 30 wt % of iron (III) oxide. The content of iron (III) oxide in the active layer is higher than the content of iron(III)oxide in the solid propellant.

摘要: The present technology is directed to igniter pellets for use with an expendable countermeasure flare assembly with an igniter assembly with a pellet receptacle. An igniter pellet of one or more embodiments has a moisture insensitive first layer formed by a first composition comprising a mixture of a fuel material that includes Boron, an oxidizer material that includes Bismuth Oxide and/or Potassium Perchlorate, and a granular matrix binder holding the fuel material and the oxidizer material together. A second layer is formed by a second composition that has a fuel material that includes Magnesium, an oxidizer that includes Polytetrafluoroethylene, and a binder material that includes a fluoropolymer elastomer. The second layer is contained in the pellet receptacle and covered by the first layer, so that the second layer is isolated and protected from ambient moisture by the moisture insensitive first layer.

摘要: A gas generator includes a housing main body made of metal, a holder assembly, and an igniter. The holder assembly includes a holder portion made of metal and a connector portion made of resin. The holder portion includes a first barrel portion and an annular projection. The connector portion includes a second barrel portion and a cylindrical portion. The cylindrical portion is inserted in the housing main body and externally attached to the first barrel portion. As a portion of the housing main body corresponding to the cylindrical portion is decreased in diameter, the cylindrical portion is compressed by being sandwiched between the portion of the housing main body decreased in diameter and the first barrel portion so as to seal a gap between the housing main body and the first barrel portion.
