Abstract:
A device for separating and gripping an outermost sheet of ferromagnetic material from a stack of ferromagnetic sheet material, comprising: a carrier structure with a mount for attaching the carrier as an end-of-arm-tool (EOAT) to a robotic arm arranged for moving and positioning the device into an operating position adjacent a side of a stack of ferromagnetic sheets and a remote position removed from the stack of ferromagnetic sheets; a magnetic fanning apparatus mounted at the carrier structure and having a switchable magnet and a pair of fanning pole shoes magnetisable by the magnet with opposite polarities, the fanning pole shoes located at the carrier such that when in the operating position of the device these face the side of stacked sheets and extend over the thickness of at least the outermost and an underlying sheet of the stack, whereby in an on state of the magnet magnetic fields of like polarity are induced by the fanning pole shoes in overlapping sections of edge regions of these sheets and repulsive forces are generated whereby the outermost sheet seeks to lift away from the underlying sheet by magnetic repulsion; and preferably but optionally a sheet gripping apparatus mounted at the carrier structure arranged for contacting a face of the outermost sheet and secure the sheet to the EOAT for retrieval thereof upon the device being displaced from its operative position away from the stack of sheets.

A method and apparatus for automated aerating and handling a sub stack of a stack of rectangular paper sheets where the sub stack is gripped near or at opposed corners of a common edge of the sub stack by means of two robotic grippers (A, B) having two opposed gripping fingers (A1, A2, B1, B2), lifting and rotating the corners in mutually opposite first directions such that the work stack achieves an upwards concave form, gripping the corners by the robotic grippers (A, B), and rotating the grippers in second directions opposite to the first directions such that the upper sheet of the sub stack has a curvature smaller than the bottom sheet of the sub stack, preferably a substantially plane form.

A pill dispensing device includes a base with a top surface and a bottom surface, a transfer tray assembly coupled to the top surface of the base, a controller, and a plurality of vibrating tray assemblies. Each vibrating tray assembly couples to the top surface of the base and includes a pill tray, at least one spring support, a pill tray electric motor, and at least one optical sensor. The pill tray has an open end which is positioned above the transfer tray assembly. The at least one spring support is coupled between the top surface of the base and the pill tray. The pill tray electric motor couples to the pill tray and an offset weight. Each pill tray electric motor electrically couples to the controller. An optical sensor couples to the pill tray.

Gloves and dispensers for gloves are generally discussed herein with particular discussions extended to disposable gloves packaged in a disposable dispenser configured to engage with a carrier. Aspects of the glove assemblies provided herein include a dispenser case having a flange having locking tab for sliding engagement with a channel on the carrier. The dispenser case may be removed from the carrier and a new dispenser case engaged to the carrier.

A sheet feeding device includes a pick roller and a resilient element disposed above the pick roller. The pick roller has a roller surface. The resilient element includes two side resilient arms and a center resilient arm located between the two side resilient arms. Free ends of the two side resilient arms are pushed forward by all sheets when the sheets arrive between the free ends of the two side resilient arms and the roller surface. A free end of the center resilient arm faces the roller surface of the pick roller and maintains a gap therebetween. When too many pieces of paper are drawn forward to the resilient element, the side resilient arms are pushed forward further more, the uppermost paper contacts the center resilient arm. The center resilient arm cooperates with the side resilient arms to provide the paper a pressure big enough to be conveyed forward.

Disclosed is a system for collecting, sorting, counting and consolidating an unorganized pool of solid or semi-solid articles such as pills for dispensation. Specifically, the articles are extracted from inside a bin using attraction points on a transport substrate and sorted into containers in finite quantities. The system consists of several components, preferably including a torque source, a counter and a vacuum source, which are uniquely integrated onto a single end-effector to reduce cost and redundancy by servicing several bins. Further, the system presents a method of attracting and carrying pills using negative vacuum pressure, gravity and centrifugal force. This centrifugal force holds articles to the local attraction points and is provided by the spinning of the transport substrate. Pills are collected from the bin or plenum at the local attraction points, counted, cleaved from the local attraction points and guided to a container or vial.

A pile of sheets is held by a separator/feeder and a vibrator is brought into contact with a first region of the pile with a first contact pressure. High frequency vibrations are applied from the vibrator to the sheet. A takeout mechanism is brought into contact with and pressed against the pile with a second contact pressure and sheets are taken out one by one from the top surface of the pile by the takeout mechanism. A first sensor detects the position of the vibrator and outputs a first detection signal, while a second sensor detects the uppermost surface of the pile and outputs a second detection signal. A control section selects first and second contact pressures according to the first and second detection signals and maintains the first and second contact pressures.

An automated method for dispensing pharmaceuticals, particularly tablets and capsules, and other small discrete objects, includes: receiving prescription information, selecting a container, labeling the container, dispensing the tablets or capsules into the labeled container, applying a closure to the filled, labeled container, and offloading the container to a designated location. Preferably, the tablets are dispensed with high speed dispensing bins that employ forced air to agitate and singulate the tablets. The other functions within the system are typically carried out at stations designed to offer speed, flexibility and precision to the dispensing operation.
Abstract:
A magnetic separator for separating magnetically permeable, stacked sheets has permanent magnets mounted on a movable support for movements toward and away from the stack of sheets. The magnets normally occupy a position closely adjacent the stack of sheets but are movable away from such position in response to inflation of inflatable and deflatable air bag activators. Deflation of the air bag actuators enables biasing springs to return the magnets to the normal position. The rate of inflation and deflation of the actuators is controllable so as to regulate the rate of movement of the magnets.
