The pantograph assembly may include a pantograph base detachably mounted to the machine, an articulated linkage assembly having a linkage assembly lower end operatively connected to the pantograph base and a linkage assembly upper end pivotally connected to the linkage assembly lower end, a collector rail assembly operatively connected to the linkage assembly upper end, and a stop member. The stop member may be connected to the pantograph base and engaging the articulated linkage assembly, or connected to the articulated linkage assembly and engaging the pantograph base, to prevent the articulated linkage assembly from being lowered toward the pantograph base below a predetermined down position or lower limit position. A latch assembly may be mounted on the pantograph base and operable to move between a latch locked position and a latch unlocked position.

A current collector for a railway trolley vehicle includes a current collecting member having a contact strip, a driving system for moving the current collecting member into and out of contact with a trolley wire, a load cell for detecting force acting between the current collecting member and the driving system, a displacement meter for detecting displacement of the driving system, first and second estimating circuits, and a control circuit. The first estimating circuit provides an estimated value of the contact force between the current collector and the trolley wire by estimating values of first parameters of the contact strip, the current collecting member, and the trolley wire and summing products of each of these values and a corresponding weighting factor. The second estimating circuit provides an estimated value of a disturbance suppressing force by estimating values of second parameters of the contact strip, the current collecting member, and the trolley wire and summing products of each of these values and a corresponding weighting factor. The control circuit calculates a difference force value by subtracting the estimated contact force value and the estimated disturbance suppressing force value from a contact force target value. The control circuit then adjusts a pushing-up force of the driving system on the basis of the calculated force difference value.

A slidable current collector has an array of terminals with carbon brushes for contacting conductor rails to deliver electrical power to a moving work machine. The terminals have upper sections with a conductive post, lower sections that include a reservoir of liquid metal, and bladders that connect the upper sections with the lower sections. Magnets surround outer shells of the terminals. Fluid above a threshold pressure fed into the bladders holds the upper sections apart from the lower sections and forces the magnets away from the conductor rails. Fluid below the threshold pressure allows the magnets to clamp the terminals to the conductor, lowers the conductive post into the liquid metal, and urges the carbon brushes against the conductor rails. The bladders provide a fluid suspension distributed across the array of terminals, enabling consistent electrical contact and wear for the carbon brushes.

The rapid descent device comprises means for temporary shut out of the feeding of fluid of the main chamber, which reliably ensures the initial raising of the pantograph until the pantograph comes into contact with the overhead wire.
