Abstract: System and methods for providing simultaneous public and private audio-video integrated with an interactive board game, where a private viewer looking through an eye filter perceives the private video while a public viewer not looking through an eye filter perceives the public video all responsive to playing the interactive board game. Means for providing private audio simultaneous with the private video are also shown. The audio-video is selectively provided during game play based at least upon the tracked game state of the interactive board game. The video output component of the system can be implemented as either a display or a projector.

Abstract: A projection system includes a projection lens to project image light along an image light path towards a port window and to redirect a portion of the image light away from the image light path as result of being scattered or reflected away from the image light path. The projection system includes a port window for transmitting projected image light from the projection lens. The port window has a surface for redirecting a portion of the projected image light as result of being scattered or reflected away from the image light path. The projection system includes an enclosure positioned between the port window and the projection lens to surround the image light path between the port window and the projection lens. The enclosure absorbs the portion of the image light redirected by the projection lens and absorbs the portion of the projected image light redirected by the surface.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus for conveying a virtual image including a waveguide having first and second surfaces. An in-coupling diffractive optic and an out-coupling diffractive optic arranged along one of the first and second surfaces, wherein the in-coupling diffractive optic is operable to direct image-bearing light beams into the waveguide for propagation by total internal reflection, and wherein the out-coupling diffractive optic is operable to direct at least a portion of the image-bearing light beams from the waveguide through the second surface toward an eyebox. An at least partially transparent outer cover located adjacent to the first surface, and a circular polarizer arranged between the waveguide and the outer cover, wherein the circular polarizer is operable to circularly polarize at least a portion of image-bearing light beams transmitted through the first surface and to prevent at least a portion of image-bearing light beams transmitted through the first surface from reentering the waveguide as a result of reflection from the outer cover.

Abstract: A ride system includes eyewear configured to be worn by a user. The eyewear includes a display having a stereoscopic feature configured to permit viewing of externally projected stereoscopically displayed images. The ride system includes a computer graphics generation system communicatively coupled to the eyewear, and configured to generate streaming media of a real world environment based on image data captured via the camera of the eyewear, generate one or more virtual augmentations superimposed on the streaming media of the real world environment, and to transmit the streaming media of the real world environment along with the one or more superimposed virtual augmentations to be displayed on the display of the eyewear, and project stereoscopic images into the real world environment.

The left view device display images and the right view device display images form stereoscopic device images complementary to the stereoscopic cinema images.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a process that includes obtaining three-dimensional image content having first and second images. The first and second images include first and second numbers of pixels. The first and second images are arranged according to a shared coordinate system to portray different perspectives of a common scene. A first portion of pixels are removed from the first image based on a filtering of the first image, resulting in a first remaining number of pixels. A second portion of pixels are removed from the second image based on positions of the first portion of pixels in the shared coordinate system, resulting in a second remaining number of pixels. The first remaining portion of pixels is combined with the second remaining portion of pixels to form a transport frame for delivery to a media processor. Other embodiments are disclosed.
