摘要:
A bipolar pulse generating circuit for an electrosurgical generator generates a waveform for electroporation of biological tissue comprising a voltage source connectable to a load via a switching element, and a coaxial transmission line having an inner conductor separated from an outer conductor. The inner conductor first end is connected between the switching element and the voltage source and second end is in an open circuit condition, whereby the line is charged when the switching element is OFF and discharged when the element is ON. The bipolar pulse generating circuit has an output connectable to the load, wherein the first output supports a positive pulse when the line discharges, and a second output supports a negative pulse when the line discharges. The impedance of the coaxial transmission line matches a sum of impedance of the switching element, the load at the first output, and the load at the second output.

Circuits and methods for generating a pulse are provided. The generating can comprise receiving at least one trigger input signal with a pulse generating circuit; generating a voltage pulse having a duration less than the avalanche time of a transistor in response to at least a portion of the at least one trigger input signal with the pulse generating circuit; transmitting the voltage pulse from the pulse generating circuit to a terminal of the transistor, the transistor constructed and arranged to be operable in an avalanche mode; and outputting an avalanche pulse from at least one terminal of the transistor in response to the voltage pulse. In some embodiments, the pulse can be transmitted with an antenna in a radar system, and a return pulse can be received and processed.

A driver circuit transmits a signal generated by a signal level generation circuit to a circuit to be measured by transmitting the signal to a output buffer circuit via a circuit (prebuffer circuit) that drives the output buffer circuit and causing the output buffer circuit to drive a transmission line. The driver circuit includes the prebuffer circuit and a replica buffer circuit formed by imitating the prebuffer circuit. The prebuffer circuit and the replica buffer circuit are disposed in parallel. The driver circuit temporarily increases input bias current to be supplied to output-stage transistors of the output buffer circuit on the basis of output current of the replica buffer circuit during transition of an input or output signal.

For the multiple utilization of an external IC terminal, e.g. as input for some options e.g. a testing sequence, there is provided in the IC a special clock generator for three clock signals which are combined in such a way via switches and an inverter that different potentials at the external terminal are "recognized" and converted into different binary signals.

A fast-switching pulse modulator for generating a high-power output pulse in response to a low-power input pulse to apply a bias signal to a microwave apparatus having a high efficiency avalanche semiconductor diode such as a TRAPATT diode or IMPATT diode formed of GaAs. The modulator uses a transistor operating in a switching mode. The transistor is biased to a non-conducting state preferably by a negative D.C. bias voltage and switched to a first conducting mode upon application of the positive input pulse to the transistor. At this first conducting mode the transistor switches current from zero to a low-current level during which no RF output signal exists. Upon application of a threshold signal to, for example, the TRAPATT diode, the diode is triggered into the TRAPATT mode generating thereby an RF output pulse. As the diode is triggered into the TRAPATT mode the transistor is switched to a second conducting mode at a high current level. The rise time of the RF output pulse is fast as a result of the transistor switching from the low-current level to the high-current level.

A pulse generator circuit using a programmable unijunction transistor produces an output pulse by turning ''''on'''' the transistor by means of an integrator circuit connected across the anode and cathode of the transistor and integrating an output of a power supply while the turn-off of the transistor is achieved by exceeding a normal gate electrode current of the transistor. The augmented gate electrode current is produced by a conductive state of a zener diode to produce a low impedance, high current path to the gate electrode whereby the transistor is turned ''''off'''' shortly after the transistor has been turned ''''on'''' by the integrator. The output pulse is generated by an output transistor responsive to an inductor in the cathode circuit of the unijunction transistor which inductor produces a back voltage with a decrease in the cathode circuit current to turn ''''off'''' the output transistor.

An electrical circuit for energizing a load and continuing to supply current to said load so long as a sensor forming a part of said circuit is subjected to a particular physical condition that permits said sensor to impress a voltage of a predetermined magnitude on the gate of a controlled rectifier. The flow of current from said rectifier to said load is further controlled by a transistor, the base of which is subjected to a pulsating current, with said transistor being conductive only during one of said pulses. The current flow to said load is terminated within the time interval between two of said pulses when said impressed voltage of said gate falls below said predetermined magnitude. The switching function of the circuit consequently has a small deadband.
