摘要: An antenna assembly includes an antenna feed, a ground plane, a first antenna element, a second antenna element, and a shorting post that is shared between the first and second antenna elements. The first antenna element includes a first conductive dipole arm in planar alignment with a surface of the ground plane and a second conductive dipole arm in planar alignment with the surface of the ground plane and adjacent to the first conductive dipole arm. The second antenna element includes a third conductive dipole arm in planar alignment with the surface of the ground plane and adjacent to the second conductive dipole arm, and a fourth conductive dipole arm in planar alignment with the surface of the ground plane and adjacent to the third conductive dipole arm. The shorting post is in electrical communication with the ground plane, the second conductive dipole arm and the third conductive dipole arm.

In one embodiment, the antenna comprises: an array of antenna elements; and a structure coupled to the array of antenna elements, the structure having a plurality of components comprising materials having different coefficients of thermal expansion (CTEs), wherein first and second components of the plurality of components are pin bonded with one or more pins, and one or more components of the plurality of components other than the first and second components are between the first and second components and have one or more slots through which the one or more pins traverse and have CTEs different than CTEs of the first and second components.

摘要: An antenna system for space applications provides a membrane antenna with one or more flexible membranes. An antenna enclosure stores the membrane antenna during stowage. One or more first deployable support structures extend along a first axis from the antenna enclosure during deployment, at least a first point of the membrane antenna being operably anchored to a point on the first deployable support structures. Deployment mechanisms are operably anchored at a junction with the first deployable support structures. The deployment mechanisms extend one or more second deployable support structures along a second axis from the first deployable support structures during deployment. At least a second point of the membrane antenna is operably anchored to a point on the second deployable support structures. Extension of the first deployable support structures and second deployable support structures unfurls the membrane antenna along both axes to overlap the junction.

摘要: A downhole communication includes an antenna winding fixed to an inner surface of a collar. A fluid flow flows through a center of the antenna winding. The antenna winding is wound around a chassis in an antenna channel in the chassis. The chassis is attached to the inner surface of the collar with a seal such that fluid does not travel between the fluid flow and an annulus between the antenna winding and the inner surface of the collar.

摘要: A satellite system can include one or more satellites that orbit the Earth. The one or more satellites may have satellite buses that support antenna arrays. The antenna arrays may include space fed arrays. Each space fed array may have an antenna feed array and an inner array that is coupled to a direct radiating array. The direct radiating array may operate in the same satellite band as the space fed array, or upconversion and downconversion circuitry may be used to communicatively couple a direct radiating array that operates in a different satellite band to the space fed array. The satellites may have peripheral walls with corner fittings that can be selected to provide the satellite bus with particular leg strengths. This can reduce overall mass of the satellites in a payload fairing while accommodating different types of antenna arrays.

摘要: A multi-band antenna has a feed point, a grounding location, a first portion for low band operation, a second portion for low band operation, and one or more portions for high band operation. The ground reference of the feed point for the multi-band antenna is connected to a separate object that may provide a base for the multi-band antenna. The feed point of the multi-band antenna may be spaced above the base and have a space between the feed point and a location for the ground point. The low band portion has multiple resonances that are often odd multiples of the lowest resonant response. The portions that resonant most dominantly in the high band often have multiple resonances that are even multiples of the lowest high band resonance. The multi-band antenna has resonances spaced closely enough to appear to be a wide band antenna above the fundamental high band resonance.

The first portion may be dielectrically loaded with a high permittivity loaded material, and the second portion may be dielectrically loaded with a low permittivity loaded material.

摘要: Disclosed is a self-contained mesh radio extension unit, comprising a receiving sleeve having an open volume and a first data connector for communicative coupling to a communication device or cellular phone inserted in the open volume. A low-gain internal antenna and a high-gain external antenna are coupled to a digital data link (DDL) with a first DDL operating frequency. The DDL provides bidirectional internet protocol (IP) connectivity between the first data connector and a peer-to-peer meshed communication network, controlling one or more of the antennae as transceivers at the first DDL operating frequency. An integrated power supply system powers the DDL and includes a rechargeable internal battery and an external power interface. A control system automatically routes IP packets received or transmitted by the DDL and includes a network address translation (NAT) router and an IP addressing service for assigning and tracking IP addresses across the peer-to-peer meshed communication network.

摘要: A fin-type planar antenna and a deployable dipole antenna are combined into a probabilistic system as a co-located orthogonal diversity fin antenna to reduce or eliminate cross polarization fades and cancellation dropouts common to wireless audio systems used in theaters, churches and convention centers over coaxial wired connections. Additionally, an optical line may connect the diversity fin antenna to a further circuit. The antenna system features broad bandwidth, resistance to deep nulls or fades caused by cross polarization, resistance to destructive interference, and an air space dielectric covering provides resistance to detuning in the presence of rain, or touching objects.
