摘要： An assembly for rapidly mounting a battery to an electrical device includes a supporting camming plate with a large opening and smaller notches at opposite sides of the opening with the plate mounted across a recess in the electrical device. The battery case has an protruding member with a pair of lugs extending radially from the protruding member. Each of the lugs includes a symmetrically shaped camming portion of gradually increasing and then decreasing extension from the inward surface of the lug. The protruding member is adapted to be inserted into the opening in the plate by passing the pair of lugs through the notches and after being inserted through the opening to be given partial rotation to carry the lugs out of alignment with the notches so that the camming portion is under the plate.

A hole or port in the resilient member at the point of connection carries the terminal connecting post which consists of a deformable electrical conductor of relatively soft lead. This deformable lead post is made to yield and expand against the plastic lining to form a liquid seal compression fit. The expansion is provided by the engagement of a threaded male member, e.g., a bolt, with a threaded female member, e.g., a lock nut, one of the members being embedded in the lead post and reacting against and deforming the lead upon engagement of the threaded members. This seal has particularly utility in a sealed or resealably safety valved battery and other electrolytic cells.

A cover provided for each of the cells has openings therein and cell connectors electrically and mechanically interconnect the cells. The cell connectors are disposed below the upper edge of the cell covers and provide a rigid interconnection between the cells. The disposition of the cell connectors below the upper edge of the cell cover protects against inadvertent short circuiting caused by contact with metal objects.
