    摘要: A switch according to this invention is particularly intended for use with articles of footwear as part of a light module which also includes one or more batteries, an integrated circuit and wire connections to LEDs or other sources of light mounted to the outsole or upper of the article of footwear. The switch is formed with a housing having a hollow interior within which a pair of spaced contacts are mounted, at least one of which is connected to the battery. A cover plate is mounted to the housing such that an electrically conductive pivot arm carried by the cover plate is positioned between the spaced contacts. In response to the application of an inertial force to the switch, the pivot arm is movable in the manner of a pendulum into engagement with either one or both of the contacts thus completing the circuit between the battery and integrated circuit allowing it to activate the LEDs.

    摘要: An acceleration detector comprising a rotor rotatably supported within a housing and rotating against the urging force of a torsion spring based on acceleration, a pair of contact terminals contacting each other to be in an electrically connected state by rotation of the rotor at an inner end portion provided within the housing, and a supporting portion integrally formed with the rotor and supporting the torsion spring. The supporting portion is displaced by a predetermined amount in a predetermined direction from the rotary center of the rotor so that the spring effect center when torque is exerted on the torsion spring by rotation of the rotor substantially corresponds to the rotary center of the rotor. This construction of the acceleration detector produces the desired performance approximating the design value in an acceleration detector.

When the plug of an external power. supply is attached to the body of the portable electronic, the CPU may operate at a high clock frequency. The cooling device achieves a high cooling performance by operating a ventilation fan directed to the fin, for example. When the plug is removed from the body of the portable electronic, the CPU may operate at a low clock frequency. Power consumption can be reduced, so that the electric power stored in the built-in battery can be saved. The duration time of the operation can be extended. Calorific power generated at the CPU can also be reduced, so that the cooling device is adapted to suppress the rise in the temperature of the CPU without operation of the ventilation fan.

    摘要: An acceleration detector including a mass member and a fixed contact, which keep contact with each other by an elastic member that presses the mass member to the fixed contact. When a vehicle undergoes an impact from its left side in its traveling direction, for example, and the mass member receives inertial force that exceeds the pushing force of the elastic member, the mass member moves toward the elastic member, thereby separating from the fixed contact. By providing the mass member and the fixed contact on both sides of the elastic member, side-to-side impact applied to the vehicle can be detected. The acceleration detector with such a configuration can detect the impact acceleration at high response sensitivity and in both directions.

    摘要: A micromechanical acceleration switch of silicon or similar materials, comprising a resilient electrode element, a proof mass, a housing and a spring element connecting the electrode element and the proof mass to the housing. The electrode element is mechanically connected adjacent to the proof mass. The proof mass has its centre of gravity located at a given distance from the axis through the spring element, so that when the proof mass is pivoting about the axis of the spring element in response to an externally applied acceleration, with a component in a direction parallel with the first axis. The electrode element also pivots about this axis. The pivot angle being essentially proportional to the magnitude of this component of the acceleration. The resilient electrode element has a mass considerably smaller than the proof mass, and is provided with at least one electrical contact point giving electrical contact and co-operation with corresponding contact areas in said switch housing at a given pivot angle of the electrode element.

Reagents which separate the oxide without dissolving either gallium alloy or the oxide are found and can be used in the in-situ or ex-situ configurations. In-situ fluids separate the oxide layer allowing switch functionality. A electrically non-conducting carrier liquid may contain the oxide separating agent and may be used within the switching capsule. The oxide separating fluid further prevents oxidation of the metal or alloy and thereby prevents wetting of the capsule surface by the metal or alloy to allow for good electrical performance of the switch.
