Abstract:
According to the reciprocal movement of a movable arm, a stationary arm is connected or disconnected to fingers mounted to the movable arm. A metal ring electrically connected to the stationary arm and coated on the front end with an insulator coating surrounds a contact end of the stationary arm.
Abstract:
A two-speed operating mechanism is provided for an isolating switch construction, which provides high-speed contact opening for good arc interruption, and low-speed contact movement when the contacts are engaged to minimize operating effort. A novel toggle-mechanism construction is provided, in conjunction with a spring-loaded panel assembly, to effect desired holding of the operating mechanism in both the ''''ON'''' and ''''OFF'''' positions to prevent thereby contact operation by the application of shock, vibration, or other external forces to the moving contact assemblies. By a novel travel movement, automatic alignment of the movable isolating contacts with the stationary isolating contacts is automatically achieved. A manually-operable handle mechanism with an improved latch is arranged to be mounted on the front of an operating cabinet enclosing the isolating switch mechanism, so that several cabinets may be mounted side-by-side in flush contiguous arrangement.
Abstract:
An air circuit breaker is disclosed. An air circuit breaker according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a cradle and a circuit breaker main body drawn-in and drawn-out to/from the cradle; and further includes: an interlock lever connected to an off button of the circuit breaker main body to move vertically; and a transfer device unit provided on the lower side of the cradle, wherein the transfer device unit can include a key interlock assembly, which is provided to be horizontally movable so that, in a state of having moved toward one side thereof, the movement of the interlock lever is restricted and, in a state of having moved toward the other side thereof, the movement of the interlock lever is permitted.
Abstract:
A link disconnect box enables easy field retrofitting of network protectors. The link disconnect box has an outer casing that defines a cavity with a front face opening and top and bottom bus bar openings. Top and bottom terminals seal the top and bottom bus bar openings. The bottom terminal is configured to connect to an existing terminal of the network protector. A removable face plate seals shut the front face opening. Top and bottom bus bars electrically connect to the top and bottom terminals, extending through the respective top and bottom bus bar openings towards each other, with an air gap between them within the cavity. An electrical link, which can be bolted closed, connects and disconnects the top and bottom bus bars by electrically bridging the air gap.
Abstract:
A spring-charging handle of the mechanism is turned in one direction to charge a closing spring for the switch blades and in an opposite direction to charge an opening spring. Either spring may be charged first, but both springs must be charged before the closing spring can be discharged to close the switch blades. An interlock is provided between a door for enclosing the switch mechanism and a latch releasing means.
Abstract:
A locking system for a disconnect switch mounted to a utility pole. The locking system includes an attachment assembly mounted to the disconnect switch. The attachment assembly has an attachment body with a groove, and a locking arm disposed within the groove and pivotable between an open configuration and a locked configuration. A trigger mechanism extends through the locking arm and selectively secures the locking arm in the locked configuration. The locking system also has a lock assembly mounted to the attachment assembly, which has a lock body defining a central aperture for receiving a key therein. The lock assembly has a rotatable cam disposed at an end of the central aperture. The cam engages the key upon being rotated thereby. When it rotates, the cam engages the trigger mechanism to selectively secure the locking arm in the locked configuration.
Abstract:
A modular electric power distribution system transmits power between a power source and control modules for power consumers. The system includes a power distribution unit mounted on each module and bridge assemblies which connect adjacent distribution units.
Abstract:
A motor operator for switchgear (1) for use in mains power distribution systems such as public medium high voltage distribution systems, where the switchgear comprises a closed cabinet (2) with an operating shaft (6) accessible from the front surface (4). The operating shaft is rotatable at least between two positions and has, a coupling part. The motor operator comprises a worm gear in a separate worm gear housing (11), which is mountable on the external surface of the switchgear cabinet. An adapter (21) with a connection shaft (22) is located in a recess in the worm wheel (16). The worm of the worm gear is connected to a motor which could be located remotely from the worm gear housing and connected to the worm preferably by means of a flexible shaft (15). This renders it possible to mount the motor operator in confined spaces.
Abstract:
An operating mechanism for opening and closing a heavy duty electrical switch is provided. The mechanism includes a switchclosing spring means, a switch-opening spring means, a manually actuated first means for charging both spring means when said switch is in an open condition, and a manually actuated second means operative, only when both of said spring means are charged, to effect discharge of the switch-closing spring means and closing of the switch. The switch-opening spring means can be either manually or automatically discharged so as to open the switch. Automatic discharge of the switch-opening spring means occurs only when a predetermined condition exists in the electrical system.
Abstract:
A circuit breaker includes an electrically insulative case and a handle rotatably coupled to the electrically insulative case. The circuit breaker also includes a gear train mechanism. The gear train mechanism includes a drive gear drivingly coupled to the handle and a plurality of pinions engaged with the drive gear. The drive gear is arranged to rotate the plurality of pinions in response to a rotation of the handle. The gear train mechanism also includes a rack engaged with the plurality of pinions. The rack is arranged to translate in response to a rotation of the plurality of pinions.
