Abstract: The disclosure provides a switch assembly and an electric drill. The switch assembly includes a first switch, a button, and a locking mechanism. The button is provided with a pressing part that cooperates with the first switch, so as to trigger the first switch when the button is pressed. The locking mechanism includes a locking member for locking the button and a trigger pivotally mounted and matched with the locking member. When the locking mechanism is locked, the locking member resists the button, so that the button cannot be pressed. When the trigger is rotated, the trigger drives the locking member to move, so that the locking member is misaligned with the button, and the button can be pressed at this time.

Abstract: A trigger switch TS includes a trigger that moves in a pulling direction in response to pressure of a pulling operation and moves in an opposite direction to the pulling direction in response to being released from the pressure. The trigger switch TS includes a lock guide 6 (movable engagement member) that moves in conjunction with movement of the trigger, and a ratchet ring 7 (restraint engagement member) that engages with the lock guide 6 to prevent movement of the lock guide 6 in the opposite direction to the pulling direction. The ratchet ring 7 allows the lock guide 6 to move in the pulling direction, and engages with the lock guide 6 to prevent movement in the opposite direction from a position to which the lock guide 6 is moved in the pulling direction.

Abstract: A switch lockout mechanism for a power tool includes a handle housing for gripping by a power tool operator. The handle housing is generally elongated in a direction corresponding to the gripping axis of a power tool operator. A switch is attached to the housing and is actuatable between an "on" position and an "off" position. A locking member is rotatably or pivotally attached to the housing. The locking member has a first rotatable position wherein the switch is locked in its "off" position, and a second rotatable position wherein the switch is actuated to its "on" position. An actuating member allows a tool operator to move the locking member between its first and second positions.
