    摘要: Elongate capsules for housing waste are configured for disposal (placement) into wellbore(s) that are located in particular deep underground geologic formation(s). These capsules have opposing structures for physically linking multiple capsules together in an end-to-end fashion. These opposing end structures may include a stinger with pins at a top end of the capsule; and a J-slots structure at the bottom end of the capsule. The stinger with pins of a first capsule may be (removably) attached to the J-slots of a second capsule. Further, a retrieval-tool also has the J-slots structure at one end. The J-slots structure of the retrieval-tool may be configured to (removably) attach to a stinger with pins of a given capsule (which may be linked to other capsule(s)); and then the retrieval-tool may be used to retrieve the given capsule(s) from a given wellbore. Capsule retrieval systems and/or method may utilize such capsule(s) and the retrieval-tool.

The containment vessel may include a vessel body having a storage cavity for receiving radioactive materials, a lid coupled to an upper portion of the vessel body to enclose a top end of the storage cavity, and a lid seal such as a gasket positioned between the lid and the upper portion of the vessel body. The thermal shield may be positioned over the lid. The first impact limiter may be positioned over the thermal shield. The thermal shield may be resistant to high temperatures and may help to protect the integrity of the lid seal when the system is subjected to high temperatures, such as during a fire condition.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a transport basket for defective spent nuclear fuel of a heavy water reactor and, more particularly, to a transport basket for defective spent nuclear fuel of a heavy water reactor that can reduce the burden of a personnel when handling spent nuclear fuel in a test facility by minimizing a storage space and maximizing a thickness such that only a predetermined amount of spent nuclear fuel for soundness evaluation in the test facility can be transported. To this end, provided is a transport basket for defective spent nuclear fuel of a heavy water reactor, comprising: a basket body having a storage space and an internal support that partitions the storage space; a fuel pocket that is installed on one side of each storage space partitioned through the internal support and is installed so as to be rotatable toward the other side of the storage space, and has a detachable groove open in an upward direction such that a fuel case containing the spent nuclear fuel can be detached therefrom; and a cover that opens and closes the storage space of the basket body and is screwed to the basket body.
