A receiver includes an analog/digital converter (ADC), which is adapted to receive and digitize the data signal at a variable sampling rate so as to generate a sequence of digital samples, and digital processing circuitry, which is coupled to process the digital samples so as to extract the stream of digital data therefrom. The transmitter and the receiver are adapted to negotiate over the communication medium so as to set the sampling rate of the ADC and to determine the symbol rate responsively to the sampling rate.

    摘要: A temperature tag and system for sensing and reporting an internal temperature reading inside a container. The temperature tag mounts on an outside surface of the container, and a shaft with a temperature sensor extends through the side of the container and senses the internal temperature reading. A plurality of readings may be recorded at a predefined sampling rate and stored in a data memory. The temperature tag then sends the temperature readings to a reader device that presents the temperature readings to a user. The reader device may trigger the temperature tag to send the temperature readings with a signal such as an infrared (IR) signal, a radio frequency (RF) signal, and the like. The temperature readings may be analyzed in the temperature tag, the reader device, or may be downloaded to a computer to determine if an alarm condition exists.

Each of the data collectors 3 collects state data representing the operating state of the air conditioner installed in each building and transmits the collected state data to the remote monitor 4. The remote monitor 4 receives the state data collected by each data collector 3, diagnoses the operating state of the air conditioner installed in each building based on the received state data, and outputs the result of diagnosis. In this way, the air conditioners can be optimally adjusted within a short period of time.

    摘要: In one general aspect, data transfer between the modem and a processor connected to the modem may be improved using a variable speed buffer. The variable speed buffer may include one or more first-in/first out buffers (FIFOs) and two interfaces. The FIFOs may be connected between the interfaces to form an input data path and an output data path. Each FIFO may store a complete message. Consequently, an entire message may be transferred from the processor at the processor's higher data rate without having to wait for a modulator to modulate the outgoing message at a slower data rate. The modem automatically may use characteristics of an incoming signal to detect which communications protocol is used to send a message, and perform protocol specific functions. The modem may perform system diagnostic functions to improve system performance.
