Disclosed is a method for measuring leakage flow rate of a valve wherein fluid flows through the valve in a single-phase flow of a gas or steam. The underlying principle upon which the leakage flow rate may be determined is that the heat loss across a length of bare pipe located downstream of the valve causes a decrease in the temperature of the leakage flow. Also disclosed is a method for measuring the leakage flow rate when the fluid passing through the valve transitions from a liquid-phase flow into a two-phase flow of liquid and steam. In two-phase flow, the underlying principle upon which the leakage flow rate may be determined is that any leakage of the valve will cause an increase in the pressure on the downstream side of the valve because of frictional resistance to flow in the downstream piping which corresponds to an increase in temperature thereof.

The method includes providing at least two pressure measurements devices 51, 57 on the main hydraulic line 52 of a multiplunger mold press, and software in the controller unit 54 programming to compare the measurement values with preset tolerance limits. By controlling the pressure and providing a second measurement to assure measurement accuracy, yield and reliability failures related to warped or distorted packages or package components due to inaccurate pressure control are avoided, as well as failures due to wire sweep.

The digital pressure switch that detects gas pressures and generates outputs has a housing provided with pinholes that allow a gas to pass therethrough. With this arrangement, even if a gas should leak into the housing, the leakage gas is let out through the pinholes. Thus, when the pressure of a flammable gas is detected, it is possible to eliminate the danger of an explosion caused by the flammable gas accumulating in the housing.

An object of the present invention is to provide a pressure sensor unit which is formed separately from a spark plug, and in which an extra space does not have to be secured in the peripheral portion of a pressure sensing element, while a space for attaching peripheral components such as an ignition coil and the like can be secured flexibly in a spark plug hole. According to the present invention, in a pressure sensor unit (1), in the state where a spark plug (100) has been attached, a rear end of at least one of an inner cylinder member (6) and an outer cylinder member (5) in the direction of an axis (O) is located between the rear end of a pressure sensing element (3) and the rear end of an insulator (110) of the spark plug (in a standard section (SS)), while at the rear of the standard section (SS), no component of the pressure sensor unit (1) is designed to be located in an area inside the inner circumferential surface of the outer cylinder member (5) or its extended plate (EP).
