Abstract: A light enhancing system is disclosed which extends the available area for capturing light from a source and adjustably increases the light concentration on a subject being lit. Embodiments may be beneficial to applications including grow lighting. One or more reflector panels may be detachably coupled to a lighting unit by a quick-connect fastener on the end of a flexible arm. Examples of quick-connect fasteners include threaded ends, press-fit ends, and magnetic ends. In some embodiments, the reflector panel may be retrofit onto a conventional lighting unit.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a light fixture is provided that includes an enclosure with an aperture plane and two or more linear light emitting diode (LED) arrays configured to mount within the enclosure on LED array mounting features that are oriented at an angle between about 80 degrees and about 135 degrees relative to a back surface plane of the enclosure. The light fixture may further include a lens with an axis of symmetry defining two opposing lens halves that define substantially planar outer portions and curved inner portions. The two lens halves may be configured to intersect or join in proximity to the axis of symmetry that is disposed parallel, and above or in proximity to the two or more linear LED arrays. The outer edges of the substantially planar outer lens portions are disposed in proximity to opposing edges of the aperture plane of the enclosure.

Abstract: A vehicle headlamp is provided with: a fixed reflector having reflecting surfaces made of parabola-based free curved faces; movable reflectors having reflecting surfaces made of parabola-based free curved faces; and semiconductor-type light sources having light emitting chips shaped like a planar rectangle. When the movable reflectors are positioned in a first location, a light distribution pattern for low beam is obtained. When the movable reflectors are positioned in a second location, light distribution patterns for high beams are obtained. When the movable reflectors are positioned in a third location, light distribution patterns for daytime running light are obtained. As a result, the vehicle headlamp can achieve downsizing, weight reduction, power saving, and cost reduction.

Abstract: A headlamp in which light source units are tilted about predetermined tilting center axes by means of an aiming mechanism interposed between a lamp body and the light source units. The aiming mechanism includes a tilting fulcrum (a ball and socket joint), aiming screws which are rotatably supported on the lamp body, and nut members which thread fit on the screws and mounted on the light source units movably in forward and backward in response to the rotations of the screws, so as to tilt the light source units about the tilting center axes.
