Abstract: The present invention relates to a flapper valve for a percussion drill tool. The valve comprises a first side engageable with a planar surface of an element of the percussion drill tool to alternately close first and second fluid flow paths of the percussion drill tool. The planar surface comprises first and second apertures in fluid communication with the first and second fluid flow paths, respectively. The first side of the flapper valve comprises a first planar portion and a second planar portion and a first curved tip portion intermediate the first and second planar portions. The flapper valve is pivotable about the first curved tip portion between a first position, in which the first planar portion of the flapper valve is in sealing contact with the planar surface to close the first aperture, and a second position, in which the second planar portion of the flapper valve is in sealing contact with the planar surface to close the second aperture.

Abstract: A valve includes a magnetic actuation mechanism providing torque-limiting capabilities and valve stem position indication. A drive shaft of the valve is surrounded by a first annular magnetic array within a fully sealed pressure vessel. A second annular magnetic array is positioned outside of the pressure vessel and surrounds the fully sealed pressure vessel. Each of the first annular magnetic array and the second annular magnetic array include magnets having alternating polarity, allowing the first annular magnetic array and the second annular magnetic array to form a first order coupling mechanism. When the second, outside annular magnetic array is rotated, the first annular magnetic array is caused to move, actuating the valve. Importantly, the valve includes a position indication system able to determine a position of the valve stem and includes an automatic feedback mechanism for comparing an actual position of the valve with an expected position of the valve.

Abstract: Present disclosure describes a shot peening flow control valve for regulating flow of ferromagnetic media. Abstract: The present invention is directed to an electromagnetic actuation system for opening and closing pipe valves. The electromagnetic actuation systems utilizes one or more electromagnets surrounding one or more permanent magnets attached to a rotary shaft of the valve mechanism. A controller activates the one or more electromagnets such that the produced magnetic field rotates, thereby applying a force to the one or more permanent magnets and thus rotating the rotary shaft. The system does not require rotation of the one or more electromagnets relative to the one or more permanent magnets, advantageously reducing the number of moving parts within the valve system.

In the transition portion, the permanent magnet body is firmly connected to the threaded bush via a latching connection.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a valve having an actuator configured to translate a mass in a plane and a valve element located out of the first plane and configured to translate along a first linear axis. In an illustrative example, at least one of the mass and the valve element may include a magnetic source providing a persistent magnetic field and the other may include a non-magnetized, magnetically permeable mass. Reluctance-induced forces may, for example, translate the valve element towards the mass along the first linear axis when the mass is brought into register with a second linear axis. The first linear axis and the second linear axis may, for example, be colinear. Various embodiments may advantageously provide a valve requiring low energy input for operation.
