摘要: A thrust generating device includes a propeller unit including a propeller and a duct covering the periphery of the propeller. The duct includes a cylinder disposed around the propeller, a hub disposed inside the cylinder, and a plurality of duct stators extending radially from the hub to the cylinder. The hub and each of the duct stators are disposed rearward of the propeller.

摘要: 1. Method, device and system for operating internal combustion engines with a considerably increased pressure ratio and vehicle with this system.
2.1 Internal combustion engines have a technically restricted pressure ratio, which limits the thermal efficiency. Gas turbines have so far had a maximum pressure ratio of 33:1, diesel engines have compression ratios of up to 23:1.
2.2 The oxidizer is fed into the combustion chamber in (cold) liquefied condition under very high pressure (1-2). The fuel is ideally also supplied in liquid form under high pressure. The pressure ratio of the oxidizer pump is 200, better 500 or more. In the combustion chamber, the oxidizer and fuel react with each other (2-3) and expand to far more than a thousand times the liquid volume. Depending on the fuel used, an expansion machine with a pressure ratio of around π=500 or more or an equivalent expansion ratio of ε=85 or more can be implemented (3-4).
2.3 The method enables the development of compact, cost-effective internal combustion engines with significantly increased efficiency, which are particularly suitable as vehicle propulsion systems.

摘要: One embodiment relates to a waste heat recovery power drive system. The waste heat recovery power drive system includes a waste heat recovery system, which includes a heat exchanger operatively coupled to an engine so as to receive heat energy from the engine and transfer the heat energy to a working fluid. An expander is fluidly coupled to the heat exchanger to receive the working fluid from the heat exchanger. The expander is structured to convert heat energy from the working fluid to mechanical energy. A gearbox is operatively coupled to the expander. A front engine accessory drive includes a belt drive operatively coupling the gearbox to a crankshaft of the engine so as to transfer the mechanical energy from the gearbox to the crankshaft. A unitary assembly includes the front engine accessory drive, the gearbox, and the expander, and the unitary assembly is removable from the engine as a unitary component.

摘要: The invention is directed to a graspable human propulsion device which contains a ducted fan assembly on the aft portion of a longitudinal structure which the user grasps onto, which acts to propel the user along the longitudinal direction of the device while the user is mounted on a human transportation apparatus, such as a skateboard. The user can orient the device so that the ducted fan assembly leads ahead or trails behind the user, according to user preference. In one embodiment, the user controls the direction and amount of thrust by use of a spring twist throttle mechanism. In another embodiment, the user controls the direction and amount of thrust by use of a trigger and switch mechanism. The fore latch and the aft latch allow the user to clamp the device onto a skateboard deck for ease in transporting while on foot.
