摘要： Deposits, such as coal, tar sand, heavy crude oil and/or minerals are excavated from an underground formation layer (4) by:—inserting a chain cutter string (11) into a 1st section (8, 9) and a control cable (12) into a 2nd section (10) of a T-, V-, U-, or L-shaped channel assembly (8, 9, 10) traversing the layer (4);—connecting the control cable (12) to the chain cutter string (11) at a branchpoint (13) of said 1st & 2nd sections (8, 9 & 10); and—pulling the chain cutter string (11) in a continuous or oscillating manner through the first section (8,9) while continuously pulling the control cable (12), such that the chain cutter string (11) carves deposits from the layer (4) and the control cable (12) optimizes the performance and reduces the risk of breakage of the chain cutter string (11).

摘要： The invention employs pressure and displacement sensors for the automatic monitoring and adjustment of the pre-tension of endless belts, in the form of chains or the like, which sensors determine the pressure in the cylinder space and the movement of the piston of the tensioning cylinder, and the measuring signals from which sensors are evaluated by an electronic evaluation and actuation unit. In this respect the evaluation and actuation unit calculates from the measuring signals the changes in pressure which occur over a predetermined partial stroke of the piston of the tensioning cylinder, wherein these changes in pressure reflect the state of tension of the chain belt. When the chain tension is incorrect, the evaluation and actuation unit can therefore control the tensioning cylinder so that the optimum chain tension is set automatically.

摘要： A hollow gearwheel has internal teeth that mesh directly or through an intermediate gear with the teeth of a drive gear of a machine drive on a drum cutter mining machine. External teeth on the hollow gearwheel mesh with the teeth of a rack extending over the distance traversed by the mining machine along the face of a longwall mine. A plate pivots about the rotational axis of the drive gear while the plate forms a closure to the side of the hollow gearwheel facing the mining machine. The plate carries a bearing support for the arbor shaft of the hollow gearwheel and forms a seal along the outer peripheral edge of the hollow gearwheel. A carrier includes a bearing to support the outer end of the arbor shaft. The carrier is moved along a recess in a housing for the hollow gearwheel to adjust, by pivotal positioning, the hollow gearwheel.

The extraction installation may have a chain having a first chain strand section with a first end and a second chain strand section with a second end. 摘要： A coupling device for connecting a mineral mining machine, such as a plough, to a drive chain. The coupling device is intended to locate within a channel inside a slotted guide containing the drive chain. The device is composed of coaxial tubular members secured together axially. The inner tubular member supports a swivel-mounted shackle connecting with the chain and a rigidly-mounted shackle connecting with the machine. One or both tubular members are shaped or relieved at the end nearest the swivel shackle to provide a cleaning nose which forces dust or the like from the channel as the chain draws the machine along the guide. A lateral projection on the outer tubular member engages in the slot and co-operates with the nose to guide the material away through the slot.
