Abstract:
An awning is disclosed. The awning comprises a case assembly comprising a housing, configured to be mounted to a dwelling, and a lead rail, a roller assembly mounted in the case assembly and including a roll tube rotatable relative to the case assembly, a lead rail assembly coupled to the lead rail, the lead rail assembly movable relative to the housing between an extended position and a retracted position, a canopy having a leading edge and a trailing edge, the leading edge being connected to the lead rail assembly and the trailing edge being connected to the roll tube, and a spring arm assembly connecting the housing of the case assembly to the lead rail, the spring arms including a first arm and a second arm pivotable relative to one another, the spring arm assembly allowing the lead rail assembly to move between the extended position and the retracted position.
Abstract:
An improved two-piece, gripping bar device for securing and selective roll-up of flexible sheeting useful in screening outdoor rigid structures, like greenhouses. The identical rod-like pieces present a shape having an elongate cylindrical form upon conjoining which device grips a length of sheeting. The pieces permit firm mating by virture of a tapered ridge on the contacting surface of each member which compliments an opposing tapered recess on the opposing surface of the other member, so that each member presents a pair of parallel, linear ridges and linear recesses. Central of the arcuate outer surface of the device is at least one elongate channel adapted to receive and retain either a second or third sheet of flexible material and thus be rolled-up with the inner sheeting to selected vertical heights.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and an apparatus for mounting and deployment of retractable covering devices, in particular, light control window covering including a lobed head rail to prevent creasing and/or skewing of the window covering when rolled up, the head rail having means for attaching the window covering which insures proper alignment of the window covering. Also included are a bottom rear rail having an antiskewing device which comprises a slidable weight for compensating for skewed roll up; a flip-catch device for preventing wrong-way roll up of the window covering; and a top-catch mechanism for preventing both wrong-way roll up and over rotation in the proper roll up direction.
Abstract:
A locking device is provided for anchoring the side edges of a roll-up awning to prevent wrinkles in the awning. The awning includes a hem which is positioned in a groove of a roll-up bar. The locking device comprises a body portion which is sized to be slidably received in the groove for longitudinal sliding movement therein and a radially enlarged portion for clamping the awning against the wall of the groove. A screw on the body portion is screwed into engagement with the wall of the groove to anchor the locking device against longitudinal movement.

Abstract:
A retractable window covering panel including spaced apart parallel sheets of flexible fabric with vanes adhesively secured therebetween. The covering includes a roller or head rail with a wrinkle and buckle compensating structure such as longitudinal lobes or ribs to prevent creasing, wrinkling, or buckling of the window covering when rolled up. The head rail has means for attaching the window covering to insure proper alignment of the window covering. A bottom rail is secured to one or both sheets. An anti-skew device is provided.
Abstract:
An assembly consisting of a covering including a pair of parallel fabric sheets interconnected by a series of spaced vanes forming joints with the sheets along their marginal edges. A roller is inserted into the space defined between a pair of adjacent vanes and a clip is resiliently mounted on and cooperates with the roller to capture a portion of at least one of the sheets and one of the pair of vanes, The roller and clip define collectively a roll-up surface for the covering that defines a base circle and has at least three projections projecting outwardly from the base circle to create a plurality of unobstructed recesses to receive portions of the covering when rolled up around the roller and clip.
