    Abstract: A novel roof shingle tile and method of installation is presented. The roof shingle may include a first side opposite a second side, a top edge opposite a bottom groove, a top gutter, and a side gutter. The bottom groove may extend along a bottom edge of the tile that includes a bottom edge of the side gutter, and the top edge may include a tongue portion sized to fit within the bottom groove of a vertically adjacent tile. The second side may also include an overhang portion sized to overlap the side gutter of a horizontally adjacent tile. When installed, the shingle tiles may create a water resistant roof surface.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a surface coverings system for a surface such as a roof, a floor or another substantially flat surface subjected to water and needs drainage, and methods for preparing such a system. The surface covering system comprises a rectangular plate with a mark marking a highest point, a substantially flat lower surface and an upper surface with a first slope facing from the mark towards a second mark provided in connection to the outer edge of the plate. The first slope is circular and has a linear radial inclination (α) facing from the mark towards essentially all points on the rectangular plate. The slope forms an elevation in the plate forming at least a part of a cone or blunt cone with the tip of the cone defined by the mark with the lowest point(s) of the upper surface of the disc defined by the second mark.

    Abstract: The invention provides a one piece shingle for use on roof ridges and hips. Shingles of the invention are preferably formed from synthetic materials and preferably comprise a blend of high and low molecular weight polyethylene resins. The unique blend of materials provides a shingle that is both strong while retaining sufficient flexibility to permit the shingle to bend to accommodate a variety of pitches at a ridge or hip. Unique features of the shape and structure of the shingle also make it particularly suited to hip and ridge applications. Furthermore, methods of manufacturing hip and ridge shingles are also disclosed.

The tabs are so configured that juxtaposed panels can be interdigitated via the tabs, and the sheets obscure the nailing tabs.     Abstract: A shingle system for covering sloping roofs and also capable of being used as wall sidings. The shingles are made of heat-insulating material and each main shingle has at its underface a network of intersecting channels communicating with the channels of adjacent shingles for ventilation of the space between the support surface and the shingles, to prevent water condensation. The shingles are laid in cross-rows and longitudinal rows and have keys to interlock adjacent shingles along both rows. The shingles have water barriers at their top face to prevent wind-swept rainwater from entering the joints between adjacent shingles and from overflowing onto the support surface. Concealed passageways are provided to allow this water to run off the shingles. Ridge shingles and side edge shingles are also provided to prevent rain from reaching the support surface, while permitting air circulation between the shingles and the support surface. A fascia board is also provided for the same purpose.
