Abstract: A system of retroreflectorized traffic control channelizing devices is disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of channelizing devices, each device having a reflective member that is either white, yellow, or red in color. Those having a white reflective member are used to direct traffic from a right side of a traffic lane. Those having a yellow reflective member are used to direct traffic from a left side of a traffic lane. Those having a red reflective member are used to stop traffic for a road closure. A method of use of a system of retroreflectorized traffic control channelizing devices is also disclosed.

Abstract: A retroreflective sheet 9 of the present invention includes; a surface layer 1; a glass bead holding layer 5 containing glass beads 3 that are located randomly as viewed cross-sectionally; and a metal reflective layer 4 on a back surface side of the glass bead holding layer 5. The surface layer 1 is a vinyl chloride resin layer. The retroreflective sheet further includes, between the vinyl chloride resin layer and the glass bead holding layer, a barrier layer 2 for preventing deterioration of the metal reflective layer. The barrier layer 2 is preferably an alkyd-melamine resin layer. Thereby, it is possible to provide a retroreflective sheet that can prevent the degradation of, e.g., the reflective function of the metal reflective layer on the back surface side of the glass bead holding layer and thus maintaining high weather resistance and wide-angle reflectivity, and that can exhibit high surface printability.

Abstract: A support for positioning a marking pole relative to a driving surface and a method of using the same is disclosed. The support includes a shaft member extending between a first end and a second end and an intermediate portion between the first end and the second end. The shaft member defines a cantilevered section between the first end and the intersection of anchor. A receiver is at the first end of the shaft and configured to receive a marking pole.

Abstract: This invention describes the design and method of installation of wild animal highway warning reflectors. The reflector consists of a transparent plate having a flat light entrance surface and a backside reflection surface from which the reflected light is dispersed. The rear surface is comprised of many reflecting toric surfaces arranged vertically and horizontally side-by-side. The new design of the toric surfaces and the unique method of installing the reflectors provide complete reflected light coverage for all variations of roadside terrain to warn wild animals that wish to cross a highway at night. To an animal each reflector glitters with colored light. As a vehicle passes, animals see an unnatural, sequence of lights coming from a plurality of reflectors located along both sides of the highway. Installation of these warning reflectors adjacent to highways where wild animals frequently cross has led to a considerable reduction of the number of accidents.

Abstract: The reflector for marking driveways and the like is adapted to be resiliently clamped to a rod which can be inserted into the ground. One or more reflectors can be supported on the rod at various angles and reflect the lights of passing cars to mark, for example, the entrance to a driveway. Each reflector is constructed of a circular molded plastic frame to hold the reflecting plastic and has internal resilient members projecting inwardly from the frame which cooperate to securely clamp the reflector to the supporting rod which passes through aligned holes in the frame and a passage between the springlike internal members. Each reflector at one end has an octagonally shaped embossment on the frame around one of the holes in the frame, and a second embossment around the aligned hole at the opposite side of the frame which has an octagonally shaped inset. Thus, the embossment of one reflector can be seated in the inset embossment of an adjacent reflector to locate a respective reflector at four different angular positions on the supporting rod relative to an adjacent reflector.
