摘要： A sewing machine includes a material sandwiching unit to sandwich two materials having annular edges from above and below while they are stacked so that the material on an inner wheel side is located on the lower side and the material on an outer wheel side is located on the upper side, wherein a part of the material sandwiching unit located above the two materials is vertically movable, the material sandwiching unit includes a curl-removing mechanism to straighten curls occurring on the edges of the two materials, the material sandwiching unit includes inclined parts that serve as the curl-removing mechanism and have edges extending backward from a farther side of the edges toward the edge side at a position where the two materials pass therethrough, and the inclined parts have air ejectors to eject air so as to form airflows that straighten portions of the materials where curls have occurred.

摘要： In the production of knitted garments especially pullovers, cardigans and sweaters it is frequently desired to add a knitted strip of material to the garment to define a neck opening. With this invention a first piece of fabric such as the strip is impaled on the points of a linking machine, the second piece of fabric such as the garment is then impaled on the points and the other marginal edge of the strip folded over the second piece of fabric and with said marginal edge abutting the points the two pieces of fabric are sewn together. When the strip has one marginal edge formed as a welt edge it is that edge which is impaled on the points.

摘要： Mounting means for a sewing machine, or a similar machine for joining together pieces of fabric, having a horizontal work surface by which the machine is supported with capacity for rotation about a vertical axis. The machine is mounted within an aperture formed in the horizontal surface, and supported by bearings. A vertical shaft, located below the work surface, is connected to the machine and provided with a disc, whereby the machine is rotatable from beneath the work surface. Shelves and compartments are located beneath the work surface for storage of materials and for housing the control circuitry for the machine. The invention eliminates the customary stand on which such machines are mounted, and the many disadvantages attendant thereto.

摘要： The invention relates to an apparatus for closing the opening formed at or near the toe end of a circularly knit stocking which is knit from a yarn forming a stocking web, where a bead is provided along the edge of said opening. The apparatus has a guiding channel with a longitudinal slot, through which channel the superposed bead halves are advanced from one end to the other, the stocking web extending through the slot of the channel. Before the closing operation the stocking is taken over by a clamping device consisting of a stationary table and a rotating presser foot between which the stocking web is clamped so as to be advanced past a seaming station by the rotation of the presser foot. The guiding channel is continued along part of the contour of the clamping device, but ends at some distance from the seaming station.
