摘要: Methods and apparatus for compact and easily maintainable waste reformation. Some embodiments include a rotary oven reformer adapted and configured to provide synthesis gas from organic waste. Some embodiments include a rotary oven with simplified operation both as to reformation of the waste, usage of the synthesized gas and other products, and easy removal of the finished waste products, preferably in a unit of compact size for use in austere settings. Yet other embodiments include Fischer-Tropsch reactors of synthesized gas. Some of these reactors include heat exchanging assemblies that provide self-cleaning effects, efficient utilization of waste heat, and ease of cleaning.

摘要: The present technology is generally directed to methods of increasing coke production rates for coke ovens. In some embodiments, a coal charging system includes a false door system with a false door that is vertically oriented to maximize an amount of coal being charged into the oven. A lower extension plate associated with embodiments of the false door is selectively, automatically extended beyond a lower end portion of the false door in order to extend an effective length of the false door. In other embodiments an extension plate may be coupled with an existing false door having an angled front surface to provide the existing false door with a vertically oriented face.

摘要: A fabricated self-sealing coke oven door which is resistant to warping formed of a rigid steel plate which overlies the mouth of a coking chamber of a coke oven having longitudinal and transverse rectangular stiffener plates welded to the door plate at points spaced inwardly from the edges of the door plate with a plurality of transverse braces weldably interconnecting the longitudinal stiffener plates at spaced points intermediate the ends thereof and welded to the door plates, a plurality of additional transverse braces having one end welded to a longitudinal stiffener plate and the other end welded to the door plate, a rectangular bar welded to the upper edge of each of the stiffener plates extending the length thereof and outwardly to the edge of the door plate in a plane parallel to the plane of the door plate, and a plurality of spring box means at spaced points along the length of each rectangular bar comprising a length of tubing disposed between the rectangular bar and the door plate adapted to co-act through apertures in the door plate with a sealing ring adapted to be mounted on the inner surface of the door plate. At least two of the transverse braces are adapted to support with the door plate a heat resistant plug for the mouth of the coking chamber on the inner surface of the door plate, and two of the transverse braces can be solid rectangular blocks which support door latches which maintain the oven door in operative position at the mouth of the coking chamber.

摘要: A coke oven door fabricated from steel plate including a rectangular main door plate having inner and outer planar door faces. A pair of side support plates are rigidly affixed to the main door plate outer surface to extend longitudinally therealong adjacent the side edges thereof and a pair of end support plates are similarly mounted adjacent the main door plate end edges so as to form a door support frame. A plurality of gusset members are symmetrically disposed generally about the midpoint of the main door plate outer face and extend from one of the side support plates toward the other across the main door plate outer face. A sealing ring is affixed to the main door plate inner surface and adapted to sealingly engage a door frame when the door is placed over the coke oven opening. A plurality of fabricated adjusting means are disposed on the outer door face adjacent the side and end support plates with each such means having an adjustment plunger passing through the door plate into communication with the sealing ring. During oven operation and as the temperature inside the oven becomes elevated, the door frame is subjected to heat induced warpage. The sealing ring may then be adjusted through use of the individual adjusting means to close any resulting gaps between the sealing ring and door frame. Thereafter, the door itself will flex under the influence and urging of the conventional door mounting or latching means to compensate for and seal against further door frame warpage. Because of the particular gussetted arrangement utilized, there is very little flexure of the door at the midpoint thereof with primary flexure occurring away from the center toward the outer edges.

摘要: A coke oven door for a coke oven which has an oven opening with a receiving frame extending around the opening comprises a door body with a sealing plate secured to the face of the door body which is adapted to close the oven opening. The sealing plate is of thin metal material and is held in spaced relationship to the front face of the door body by spacers. The plate includes an annular peripheral portion with an inturned flange directed inwardly toward the receiving frame. Spring biasing means mounted on the door engage against the rear edge of the flange at spaced locations around its periphery and bias the flange inwardly into sealing engagement with the receiving frame.

摘要: The present technology is generally directed to methods of increasing coal processing rates for coke ovens. In various embodiments, the present technology is applied to methods of coking relatively small coal charges over relatively short time periods, resulting in an increase in coal processing rate. In some embodiments, a coal charging system includes a charging head having opposing wings that extend outwardly and forwardly from the charging head, leaving an open pathway through which coal may be directed toward side edges of the coal bed. In other embodiments, an extrusion plate is positioned on a rearward face of the charging head and oriented to engage and compress coal as the coal is charged along a length of the coking oven. In other embodiments, a false door system includes a false door that is vertically oriented to maximize an amount of coal being charged into the oven.

The framework supports a carriage that is simultaneously moveable in an "X" axis direction and a "Y" axis direction within the boundary so that a machine-cutting tool, attached to the carriage, can be moved from one position directly to another position within the framework boundary. The machine-cutting tool is positioned to make cutting passes alone new metal that is fused into the eroded portions of the coke oven doorjamb.
