摘要: A sheet material feeder and an image forming apparatus in which, even when a sheet of thick paper is transported through a sharply curved sheet material guide, the sheet can be adjusted to a lateral registry position. A base plate, a movable lower guide and a movable upper guide can slide in a direction perpendicular to the direction of sheet transport in union with each other. Where a sheet material stopped at a lateral registry adjustment position is a sheet of thick paper, it is brought into a tightly stretching condition supported at three points, i.e., a crotch point of the movable upper guide, a top of the movable lower guide, and a guide surface of a regulation-side lateral register plate. The sheet material supported from both sides at the three points is moved together with the movable lower guide and the movable upper guide toward a reference-side lateral register plate for abutment against the same, whereby the lateral registry position adjustment of the sheet material is completed.

摘要: The apparatus has an input pocket into which a stack of sheets is inserted. At least the sheet to be picked from the stack by the picking device is transported by means of a feed device to a picking device which then picks one sheet from the stack at a time. To improve singling quality, a presingling device is provided which first transports only part of the stack to the picking device. In order to ensure that stacks of different-sized sheet material are singled reliably, an aligning device is provided which transports at least the sheet to be picked from the stack in the direction of a defined stop and thus aligns the sheet against said stop. The aligning device preferably cooperates alternatingly with the feed device. To increase singling reliability, a pressure plate is provided in the presingling device for acting upon the presingled partial stack with a certain pressure.

摘要: An adjustable tray for holding a supply of sheet material is provided. The tray includes a selectively movable backstop, and a selectively movable slide plate. An adjustment mechanism is provided that is selectively movable between an automatic position in which adjustment of the backstop affects adjustment of the slide plate, and a custom position in which adjustment of the backstop is independent of adjustment of the slide plate. The adjustment mechanism can be provided as a rod element. The backstop can be movable within a predetermined range of motion, in which case the adjustment mechanism can be adapted to move the slide plate to a position outside the range of motion of backstop. In an embodiment, the rod element is adapted to move the slide plate forward of backstop's range of motion. The tray can further include a plurality of levers, mounted on the tray, corresponding to respective sheet material sizes. The slide plate can include a plate member including a plurality of holes, with the slide plate being movable to selectively expose the levers. An actuation mechanism can be mounted on the tray. The actuation mechanism can be adapted to move the adjustment mechanism between its automatic and custom positions. In an embodiment, the actuation mechanism is provided as a switch disposed on an outside surface of the tray. A method for adjusting a sheet material tray to accommodate different sheet material sizes in an imaging system is also provided.

摘要: The emboss module of the present invention provides for automatic die and bolster conversion. The emboss module includes a frame, a die changer sub-assembly and a bolster sub-assembly. The die changer sub-assembly includes rotatable die changers for automatically registering dies therein, and the bolster sub-assembly includes counters and panels for receiving the sheet of material and the die. Both the die changer and bolster sub-assemblies are adapted for use with emboss and foil dies and counters. Accordingly, a more efficient and scalable emboss system and method for automatically changing dies and bolsters is described herein.

摘要: In centering a transfer device so that tweezers of the transfer device transfer a substrate to a predetermined delivery position on a spin chuck when the substrate is delivered to a coating unit by means of the transfer device, the substrate is transferred onto the spin chuck in the coating unit by means of the tweezers, a positional deviation amount of the substrate with respect to the delivery position on the chuck is detected by a detecting device, a positional deviation amount of the tweezers is computed based on this detection value, and a position at which the tweezers deliver the substrate is corrected based on the positional deviation amount of the tweezers. Thus, centering of the substrate transfer device can be performed automatically in a short time.
