Laminate may also have metal foil or metallized layer, and/or water-repellent surface layer, and/or antistat surface layer and/or volatile corrosion inhibitor and/or a cohesive-nonadhesive surface coating or a low-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive coating. Automatic packaging of a series of articles between long webs of wide cushioning laminates having faces of heat-sealable foam. One web is fed foam-face-up across a table, the articles to be packaged placed on it in spaced locations, heat applied to foam edges to just about melt the foam there, and a second web applied foam-face-down over the spaced articles and heat-sealed to the lower web at its edges. Transverse heat sealing and severings are effected between successive articles. The heat sealings can be set by cold pressings. Web backings can be made relatively non-porous to minimize bleed-through of melted foam.

摘要： An improved carton for packaging a plurality of multiple articles having a chime formed on one end thereof. The improved carton has a series of spacing means or ribs formed on at least one of the panels of the carton with the spacing means serving to abut a portion of the chimes of the multiple articles packaged within the carton. The spacing means serve to protect the exterior portion of the carton from becoming disfigured by the chimes of the multiple articles packaged within making circular indentations on the interior face and coming through to the exterior portion of the carton whenever several cartons are stacked on top of each other. The spacing means utilized serves to separate a major portion of the chimes from coming in contact with the underside of the panel thereby providing a much improved appearance of the advertising matter printed on the exterior of the package which is important to the sale of the package contents. The spacing means forming the ribbed carton may be formed in the preferred embodiment by a series of scorelines formed on the exterior face of at least one of the panels of the carton, and the scorelines may be formed in various patterns as desired by the customer and may also be formed in more than one panel of the carton, dependent upon the positioning of the cans in the carton and the types of cans that are to be packaged by the carton.

The wrapper has a bottom panel, end wall panels, and end wall rim panels hingedly connected together along fold lines and positioned generally adjacent corresponding portions of the aquarium. End flaps are hingedly connected to the end wall rim panels, the end flaps each having outwardly extending end tabs with locking edges. The end flaps are folded into the aquarium so that the locking edges of the end tabs are captured beneath the overlapping rim on the top edges of the front and rear walls of the aquarium.

摘要： An impact resistant wrapping system for packaging fragile articles is formed in a sheet by sealing, under pressure, two single or multi-layer or laminated flexible membranes having gas or air barrier properties, with cushioning-cellular material such as sponge foam confined in a single airtight cavity defined between the membranes. The wrapping system is in a flat state in which the cushioning-cellular material is constricted in the cavity. In use, the sheet-like wrapping system is wound or folded around the article and is retained in its wrapping state with fastening members. Air is introduced into the cavity by opening an air valve or puncturing the wrapping system at any surface point thereof, so as to allow the cushioning-cellular material to expand and force the inner of the membranes against the article, whereby the article can be securely protected from shock and damage. After use, by removing air from the cavity formed between the outer and inner membranes through the air valve to constrict the cushioning-cellular material, and closing the air valve or applying an adhesive treated surface patch to maintain the compressed state of the cushioning-cellular material in the cavity, the wrapping system can be reused.

摘要： A two part EMI/RFI shielded container for electrical components includes a transporter which has a metal layer on its inner surface. The transporter is generally tubular in shape when closed, and at least one foldable tab is formed on the transporter to expose the metal layer to the outside when the tab is bent back. The container also includes a sleeve sized to receive the transporter. The sleeve defines a metal layer on its inner surface, which is brought into electrical contact with the tab of the transporter when the transporter is slid into the sleeve. Two ends of a blank are joined together to form the sleeve, and one of these ends is folded back on itself in order to place the metal layer of the sleeve into low resistance electrical contact across the joint.
