A multi-layer extended text resealable label comprising a first base layer and a second layer selectively secured thereto. The label is constructed in such a way so that when the second layer is completely separated from the first layer, the second layer is devoid of any adhesive material thereon so that the second layer may be conveniently handled without the same sticking to other materials. The second layer is also resealable onto the first layer.

A multi-layer, pressure sensitive label having a print receiving layer, a sealant layer, a silicone layer, a varnish layer and an adhesive layer, whereby the pressure sensitive label is separable from a substrate between the silicone and a varnish layer leaving a transparent surface allowing the viewing or reading of any underlying text, message or indicia on the substrate.

A packaging laminate useful as a lidstock comprises first and second films, and an image between the first and second films. The first film comprises a sealant layer forming the inside surface of the first film. The first film has a free shrink at 220° F. in at least one direction of at least about 7%. The second film comprises an outside layer forming the outside surface of the second film. The outside layer comprises at least about 40% by weight of the outside layer of one or more relatively high-melt polymers each having a melting point at least about 25° F. higher than the lowest melting point polymer of the sealant layer. The second film has a free shrink at 185° F. of no more than about 10% in each of the machine and transverse directions. The outside surface of the first film is directly laminated to the inside surface of the second film. The first film has an oxygen transmission rate greater than the oxygen transmission rate of the second film. The laminate has an oxygen transmission rate of no more than about 100 cubic centimeters.

A paint mask particularly adapted for masking corner areas of a demarcation zone to facilitate painting of an area of a workpiece disposed on the other side of the demarcation zone is formed of a thin, flexible sheet having opposite faces. The paint mask includes a first leg and a second leg that are generally rectangular in shape, and the legs intersect to form a right angle adapted for masking a corner and adjacent area. The bottom side of the paint mask which contacts the surface to be masked includes an adhesive for adhering the mask to the workpiece. The top side has release means for releasing stacked paint masks from each other.

The present invention relates to a silver halide photographic transfer element which comprises a support having a front and rear surface, a transfer coating on the front of the support comprising a material capable of holding an image that can be transferred to a receptor surface upon the application of energy to the rear surface of the support, and at least one silver halide light sensitive emulsion layer on said front surface of the support. The invention is also directed to a method for applying a photographic image to a receptor element by the steps of exposing imagewise and then developing the above-described silver halide photographic transfer element, positioning the developed photographic element against a receptor element, and applying energy to the rear surface of the silver halide photographic element to transfer a photographic image to the receptor element.

Carpet masking film is reliably and removably applied to used carpet of unknown condition. In a pretreatment, the carpet is cleaned by physical separation of visible debris, followed by chemical or solvent cleaning of grease and soluble factors, restoring the carpet to a clean appearance. A primer layer is applied over the clean carpet fiber in quantity sufficient to establish a barrier and separation layer on top of the carpet fiber. Subsequently, a sprayed adhesive layer is applied over the primer layer. A carpet masking film is applied over the surface of the sprayed adhesive. The masking film may carry its own adhesive layer, which is applied to the sprayed adhesive to create a bonded sandwich structure that is removable as a unit with the masking film.

Multi-layer flexible transfer tapes are provided which are useful for covering printing or typing errors in texts or drawings so that corrections may be made. The transfer tapes are characterized by the inclusion of two binder-containing pigmented transfer layers, wherein one transfer layer is cationic and the other transfer layer is anionic.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a composite label web that can be used in different labelers having different feed wheels. The different feed wheels have different arrangements or patterns of feed teeth. The composite label web is comprised of a carrier web and labels releasably adhered by pressure sensitive adhesive to the carrier web. There is a separate feed aperture pattern in the carrier web for each pattern of feed teeth. The number of feed apertures is kept to a minimum, and more particularly the number of feed apertures is less than the total number of feed teeth.

A sealable film comprises: (a) an inner layer comprising an olefin polymer; (b) a sealing layer; and (c) a separable layer positioned between the inner layer and the sealing layer, the separable layer comprising (1) ethylene-propylene block copolymer or (2) a blend of polyethylene and another olefin which is incompatible with the polyethylene, specifically either (i) polypropylene homopolymer or (ii) ethylene-propylene block copolymer. Methods of making the sealable film are described.
