摘要： A method for sequentially and precisely registering cut sheets for application onto advertising signatures at high speeds employs an initial roll of sheeting material. The sheeting material is unwound to track a process path, where eyemarks on the sheeting material are detected for use in registering the sheeting material to be cut into discrete sheets and to be aligned with a moving advertising signature for affixation thereto. The sheeting material has a repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive along one side edge thereof for use in adhering the cut sheet to the advertising signature. In one embodiment, the sheeting material is generally opaque adjacent one side edge and is sufficiently transparent adjacent its other side edge so that when a sheet cut from the sheeting material is adhered to an advertising signature, images on the advertising signature are visible through at least a portion of the sheet.

The gelatinoid product layer may include a microencapsulated product, such as a fragrance. In preferred embodiments of the invention, the gelatinoid product layer includes a microencapsulated fragrance carried in a gelatinoid liquid vehicle, which vehicle may comprise, for example, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycols, glycerin, or mixtures thereof. In a highly preferred embodiment of the invention, the product sampler is in the form of a magazine insert having a protruding trimmable non-barrier substrate tab portion, whereby a user may remove a trim portion from the trimmable edge portion after binding the insert into a magazine without removing barrier material with the removed trim portion. Also disclosed is a product sampler in the form of a label.

摘要： A pressure sealer machine is provided for the production of pressure sealed documents, and more specifically nested documents, that uses a number of roller cassettes disposed in side-by-side relation, in parallel to at least one drive roller, for handling forms with inserts. In the preferred embodiment, each cassette is a dual roller cassette to include infeed and outfeed rollers. The cassettes are sized relative to the wheels so that there is a lateral gap between adjacent seal wheels, so that the cassettes produce a seal pattern composed of a series of seal strips having a uniform gap therebetween. Each cassette is spring loaded at its top side and pressure is uniformly applied to the system using a pressure plate to compress all cassette springs simultaneously.

摘要： A laminating apparatus is provided in which the distance between a pair of paper feed rollers and a pair of pinch rollers is adjusted according to the size of the paper or item being laminated and the diameter of sheet rolls between which the paper or item is laminated. The adjustment is synchronized so that the paper sizes and sheet roll diameters are accounted for at once according to the insertion of a detachable housing providing a cassette accommodating different paper sizes. A depression portion on the housing permits the paper feed rollers to adjust to or from the pinch rollers when the selected housing is inserted to the laminating apparatus.

摘要： A method of forming and inserting filter elements into cup-shaped containers comprises the steps of: a) folding a continuous web of filter material into two adjacent plies which have separable upper edges and are joined one to the other along a bottom fold line; b) blanking the adjacent plies to form their upper edges into a scalloped pattern; c) inserting carrier mandrels between the adjacent plies; d) joining the adjacent plies along seams extending transversely with respect to the bottom fold line to form a series of collapsed frustoconical filter elements interconnected by scrap segments and supported internally by the carrier mandrels; e) separating the filter elements one from the other by blanking and removing the scrap segments; f) transferring the filter elements from the carrier mandrels into cup-shaped containers arranged therebeneath; and g) securing the thus inserted filter elements to interior surfaces of the cup-shaped containers.
