摘要： A sand casting foundry composition reduces thermal defects that cause veining in metal parts cast from sand casting foundry shapes formed from the foundry composition. A plurality of foundry sand grains are mixed substantially uniformly with a plurality of shale particles, and a curable binder coats the sand grains and the shale particles to establish core and mold foundry shapes used to cast the metal part. Anti-veining capability occurs because the shale particles include mineral components which have an inherent characteristic of crystal structural collapse upon exposure to metallurgical temperatures, and the crystal structural collapse yields space which is consumed by thermal expansion of the sand grains in the foundry composition. This compensatory effect avoids the creation of mechanical forces and stresses within the foundry shape that cause cracks and fissures in the foundry shape that lead to veining.

The thermoplastic layer includes an outer layer and an inner layer. The outer layer infiltrates into the outer side of the pattern layer to wholly and completely cover and encompass the outer side of the pattern layer. The inner layer covers the inner side of the pattern layer and combines with the outer layer. Thus, the surface of the shoe vamp is formed with a pattern which is changed and varied according to the pattern variations of the pattern layer, thereby enhancing the versatility of the shoe vamp, and thereby enhancing the aesthetic quality of the shoe vamp.

摘要： The side walls of a mold have recesses in each of which is mounted a mold core for forming depressions on the outer side of a concrete block which is to be produced in this mold. The mold cores are pivotally supported around a horizontal axis which is parallel to the mold walls on the outer side of the mold. A sloping cam slot on each mold core is used to pivot the mold cores into the mold cavity defined by the mold walls and then back into the recess. The inner edges of a recess closely fit the mold core and function as strippers which self-clean all surfaces of the mold core which have come into contact with the concrete when the mold core is pivoted back into its recess. As a result, time intervals for cleaning the mold cores are greatly lengthened and a clean and smooth surface of the finished concrete block is insured.
