    摘要: An apparatus for refurbishing a belt, the latter having a width, a length and a degraded surface. The apparatus includes a frame, a grinding roller for selectively and uniformly removing a determined amount of the degraded surface along the belt width, and a positioning member to keep the belt in position during refurbishment, both the roller and the positioning member are mounted on the frame adjacent to each other. The grinding roller defines a helical grinding region thereof and a substantially complementary helical non-grinding region thereof. The positioning member has a belt abutment member spacedly positioned relative to the grinding roller to abuttingly retain the belt against the roller and a belt tensioning member to tension the belt in either side of the roller in the displacement direction of the belt. The apparatus, when not used as a kit onto an existing belt conveying machine, also includes a motor secured to the frame to selectively displace the belt relative to the grinding roller along the belt length.

    摘要: A wirelaying apparatus and method using a tool (30) having a cutter (31) operatively opening a cut in the interior bore surface (11) of a cylindrical pipe fitting (10), laying wire (12) into the cut and closing the cut using a flange closer (33). The wire (12) is delivered into the cut via an aperture (32) through the cutting means (31). Delivery of the wire (12) into the cut is thereby improved, overcoming the problem of wire running free within the fitting. In a second embodiment (see FIG. 12) the cutter (31) is rotatably mounted allowing a double helical coil to be formed without removing the cutter from the bore surface.

    摘要: A method is provided for package-to-package conversion of a pick and place handler. An input arm assembly is provided with interchangeable vacuum leads. An input/output shuttle plate is provided comprising a block and base plate. The block has a plurality of pocket groupings and a two or more alignment hole groupings. The base plate has two or more alignment pins. Package-to-package conversion is achieved by changing alignment hole groupings on the alignment pins, thereby selecting the pocket corresponding to the alignment hole used. A soak plate is provided having an array of pocket groupings, wherein each pocket grouping has the same pattern of different size/shape pockets to accommodate different packages. Package-to-package conversion is accomplished by programming an offset to the desired pocket in each pocket grouping. A test arm assembly is provided with interchangeable vacuum leads and interchangeable nest pieces.

    摘要: An impact tool for use by telecommunications personnel for the insertion of communications wires in a terminal block. The impact tool includes an impact tool cartridge having a seating blade and a cutting blade. The seating blade is retractable against a compression spring while the cutting blade is fixed so that upon the application of seating pressure to the impact tool, the seating blade retracts and the cutting blade is exposed to cut the wire. In another embodiment of the invention, a spring loaded detent supplements the compression spring in resisting retraction of the seating tool. A noise producing mechanism is located in the impact tool handle for producing an audible sound upon completion of the wire seating and terminating operations. A storage compartment for the seating and cutting blades is formed in the impact tool handle and has a door pivotally mounted for opening and closing movement relative to the handle.
