    摘要: A method is for producing a circular cylindrical body (10) comprising a workable mass, having at least one helical internal cavity extending in the interior of the body. The body (10) is initially produced with a straight internal recess, for example by means of extrusion. Afterwards the body is cut to a defined length. The body (10) that has been cut to length is then subjected to a rolling process by means of a friction surface arrangement (23) while being supported over the entire length thereof on a support means (16). The rolling process takes place in multiple steps, wherein a rolling movement using a first axis of rotation (25) is performed in a first step, and a rolling movement using a second axis of rotation (26) that is different from the first axis of rotation is used in a second step. There is also an apparatus for performing the method.

    摘要: In an impact rolling apparatus the axes of roller heads are arranged substantially perpendicularly relative to the longitudinal axis of the workpiece. Accordingly, a displacing of the material at the workpiece proceeds predominantly tangentially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the workpiece, caused by the impact effect of the impact rollers mounted at the roller heads. By this arrangement of the roller heads impact rolling operations can be performed close to a shoulder of the workpiece and marked steps thus maintaining the advantages over the known impact rolling method at which the displacement of the material proceeds predominantly in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the workpiece.

    摘要: A process for fabricating a cross rolling die is disclosed. A flat wooden cross roll tooling model blank cut to the specified die dimensions is milled by a conventional milling machine to produce a pre-form blank in accordance with the desired cross roll die surface. A face cast of the thus contoured wooden model blank, or a negative impression, is then made which, in turn, is used to make a positive cast of the wooden model blank. A series of closely spaced cuts parallel to the axis of roll is then made in the wooden model blank and the positive cast of sufficient depth to provide radial flexibility in each of these pieces. The model blank is then divided into segments for separate mounting on the cross roll die mounting plates, with each segment mounted separately so as to cover approximately 315.degree. of the full 360.degree. displacement of the cross rolling machine. The transverse cuts in the wooden model blank and positive cast are then filled with a hard-setting filler material and the surfaces of the model blank and positive cast are then contoured by grinding down. A sand cast is then made of each segment from which corresponding face casts are made. Abrader die casts are then in turn made of each face cast. A graphite electrode is then abraded on each abrader die and a cross roll die blank is then formed by means of electrical discharge machining (EDM) from which the cross roll die may be formed.

Further rotation of the forming rollers causes the plate to be indexed into a position allowing relative movement of plate and ring so that telescopic retraction is allowed during the action forming operation which next takes place.

    摘要: A method of shaping a plastically deformable sleeve by rolling jaws, having an internal shaping surface, on the sleeve after a shaping core has been placed in the bore of the sleeve. As a result of the rolling operation, the outer diameter of the material is reduced and the inner surface of the sleeve assumes the external shape of the core. The method enables simultaneous shaping of the outer and inner surface of the sleeve such as an outer toothing and a splined bore. In a particular embodiment in which internal threads are to be formed on the sleeve, an unrevolving core is used which is elastically biassed against axial displacement so that when the sleeve is rotated by the jaws in the course of shaping the core will be axially displaced against the elastic biassing action and the core will automatically advance over an axial feed distance when the jaws release the sleeve.
