Abstract:
A gas-tight article includes a sintered body composed mainly of a silicon carbide, and a film of silicon carbide formed on a surface of the sintered body by chemical vapor deposition and covering said surface of the sintered body, wherein cracks are formed in the film of the silicon carbide, and the cracks are filled with metallic silicon.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for automatically welding and handling mash welded tailored blank composites. The method comprises the steps of transferring first and second sheet component parts from respective input stacks to an assembly table of a mash welding machine. The sheet components are disposed in an overlapping lap joint configuration and the lap joint is welded along a linear weld seam thus defining a welded blank. The welded blank is conveyed in a timed step manner from the welding machine to an output stacking machine via a magnetic stepping conveyor and the blank is transferred from the conveyor to an output stack of completed blanks with a stacking machine. An apparatus is provided to carry out the method.
Abstract:
Wire fencing having a plurality of elongate picket members that lie adjacent to a side face of the chain link fencing so as to be substantially superposed over the fencing. Engagement members extend from the back faces of the picket members to project into the fencing and engage respective mounting members positioned within the fencing or on the opposite side face of the fencing. The interengagement of the engagement members and the mounting members holds the picket members firmly in place on the side of the fencing.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for making a rivet (R), of the type comprising, by deformation of the material of a substantially cylindrical metal segment, the operations of preforming a milled head (100) at the end of a rod (200), characterised in that it comprises, by deformation of the material (cold stamping) the following operations: creating a portion with a lower diameter (210) from the free end; creating a substantially cylindrical hollow core (220) for forming a tubular portion; preforming the hollow core (220) as a truncated cone; performing the lower diameter outer surface as a truncated cone. The invention also relates to the rivet obtained by said method.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for installing wire fencing including a support frame drawn by a conveyance and supporting an upstanding wire unit support spindle. A plurality of wire fencing units which may include one or and a combination of one or more wire fencing balls or spools of stranded wire fencing or a roll of field fencing are placed coaxially about the upstanding support spindle. Separator plates are placed between the wire fencing units and then the free wire ends are attached to a fence posts. The conveyance moves along a line of fence posts and the wire fencing of each of the wire fencing units is simultaneously dispensed. A drag assembly applies a drag force against a portion of the support spindle to prevent uncontrolled pay-out of the wire fencing as the wire is dispensed. A clamp assembly, selectively engagable with portions of the payed-out is provided for isolating pulling tension form wire remaining supported on wire units as the fencing is stretched prior to attachment to the fence posts. A dispensed wire installation post assembly is provided to organize payed-out wire fencing to prevent tangling prior to attaching the payed-out wire fencing to the fence posts.
Abstract:
A method for twisting an elongated cord member to form a permanently twisted cord element is preferably performed utilizing an apparatus which includes first and second end units, first and second securing and twisting assemblies for securing opposite end portions of the cord member to the first end unit and for thereafter axially rotating the opposite end portions of the cord member. The apparatus further includes an intermediate securing assembly on the second end unit for selectively rotatably and non-rotatably securing the cord member to the second end unit at an intermediate point in the cord member. The apparatus operative in the method by securing the opposite end portions of the cord member to the first end unit, securing the cord member to the intermediate securing assembly on the second end unit, axially rotating the opposite end portions of the cord member while maintaining the intermediate point of the cord member in stationary relation and then operating the intermediate securing assembly to allow the intermediate point to rotate so that opposite sections of the cord member are twisted about one another.
Abstract:
Chain-link fencing reticulated wire mesh having square or rhomboidal mesh and formed from wire spirals which are interengaged is rolled in a compact roll with the aid of at least one and up to three elongated elements or binding strands which extend in troughs of the successive spirals and assist in drawing them together so that each flattened spiral is twisted sharply out of the plane of the web of the mesh and enables the roll to be extremely compact.
Abstract:
A fence panel comprises a first frame rail that includes a first beam portion and a first fin that is adjacent to the first beam portion, and a barrier component attached to the first fin. A resistance weldment may reside at the attachment between the barrier component and the first fin. The first fin may be integral with the first beam portion. The first frame rail and the first fin may comprise a single roll form or a single extrusion.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a rotary physical shielding purifier, comprising the following steps: (1) respectively placing an outer rim, spokes and a central clamp base in an outer rim groove, spoke grooves and a central hole, and pressing a pressing die on the spokes; (2) using a welder to weld the contact parts between the spokes and the outer rim; (3) installing a central clamp gland on the central clamp base; and (4) separating the pressing die from a clamping die, and taking the finished product out.
Abstract:
A wire reel is detachably provided in a housing chamber of a binding machine body which binds a reinforcing bar. The wire reel includes a cylindrical hub portion which winds a wire, and a pair of parallel flanges overhanging outward from both external peripheral ends of the hub portions. A side wall inside the hub portion is formed of light-transmitting portions which allow the light from a transmissive photosensor provided in the binding machine body to be transmitted therethrough.
