摘要： A two-vector centrifuge rotates on a central axis, while each centrifuge drum also rotates on the drum's own axis. The inside of each drum has flighting or threads to direct and force material to the bottom of the drum as the two-vector centrifuge rotates. Perforations in the top part of the drum allow liquids to be expelled from the drum, while dried, solid material is ejected though a gap in the bottom of the drum. A pair of troughs keep the ejected liquid fraction separate from the ejected solid fraction, and each fraction is removed from the centrifuge while the centrifuge is operating, allowing the centrifuge to run for extended periods without needing to be cleaned or have accumulated material removed.

One embodiment of the invention discloses a filtering apparatus comprising a first filter section accommodating a first group of filter members, and a second filter section accommodating a second group of filter members, a piping system providing pipelined fluid communication between the filter sections and between a filter section and said filter section's corresponding group of filter members, the piping system configured such that the filter members form filtered fluid openings of the filtering apparatus, and circulation means, such as a pump, configured for passing fluid in a forward flow and/or in a reverse flow between the filter sections. In particular the invention may be used for the mashing process in a beer brewing procedure.

摘要： Methods and systems for treating waste water in residential, industrial and agricultural environments are disclosed. The methods and systems for treating waste water can be localized and self-contained with no need to channel sewage to a remote location. The waste water treatment methods and systems result in recycled clean water, concentrated effluent, and disposable solids. The recycled water can be used for landscaping and domestic use. The concentrated effluent can be channeled to an anaerobic digester to generate biogas, such as hydrogen, methane, and/or carbon dioxide, which can be used to generate power or as fuel for heating and/or cooking. The disposable solids may be used as fertilizer for farming or gardening.

摘要： A pool/spa skimmer includes a housing, a face plate, and a flexible weir gate. The housing and plate are dimensioned to allow water to flow in a vertical column. The interior of the housing has a curved wall so that when a column of water passes through the open gate and into the housing, a whirlpool effect is realized. A vertical filter cartridge is mounted on a rotational bearing so that it can spin about its axis. The inlet of a pump is coupled to the cartridge via the bearing and is also coupled to a second water inlet via a vacuum operated valve. When the filter is clean, water is drawn through it and the filter spins about its axis due to the whirlpool effect. When the filter reaches a threshold dirt covering, water is no longer drawn through it and the vacuum operated valve.

摘要： Disclosed herein are a method for removing liquid from a permeable material, such as slurries, sludges, porous solids and permeable foams. The method involves constraining the material to be deliquified such that the material interfaces with at least one surface which is permeable to the liquid to be removed and then heating the material at one or more locations remote from the permeable surface or surfaces. Such constraining and heating of the material causes the in situ vaporization of the liquid in the vicinity of the remote location or locations. The vaporized liquid expands and forces at least some of the remaining unvaporized liquid through the permeable surface or surfaces. Because only a portion of the liquid contained in the material must be vaporized and such vaporized portion is used to remove at least some of the remaining unvaporized liquid (thereby avoiding the necessity of vaporizing all of the liquid containing in the material), significant reductions in the energy required to substantially deliquify the material may be realized through the use of the method disclosed herein.
