摘要: A flexible, disposable centrifuge bag for receiving and holding a fluid sample, comprising one or more tubes and upper and lower flexible sheets having doughnut shaped configurations. The upper and lower sheets are superimposed and completely sealed together at their outer perimeters to define an outer perimeter of the centrifuge bag. The inner perimeter of the bag defines a central core. The tubes are sandwiched between the upper and lower sheets and extend from the central core of the centrifuge bag. The upper and lower sheets are sealed together at their inner perimeters such that the tubes are sealed between said upper and lower sheets at the inner perimeter. The bag may be used to harvest platelet rich plasma from whole blood in either a batch method or while simultaneously infusing additional aliquots of whole blood into the bag during centrifugation.

摘要: A system for automated operation of a blood separation system controlling the input of blood samples, the separation of blood components, and the discharge of the components. The system includes a blood reservoir and centrifuge for receiving blood samples and separating the blood components. A sensor determines when adequate separation has been achieved and a controller receives signals from the sensor to operate a centrifuge drive assembly to achieve desired separation. An input pump pumps blood samples to the blood reservoir, and an outlet pump removes separated samples from the blood reservoir. The inlet and outlet pumps are operated by the controller, and the inlet pump may be operated to discharge separated components not collected by the blood separation system, whereby additional sample volume is added for ongoing operation. One or more selected components are collected from a system outlet port by controlled application of suction to the centrifuge inlet port and the outlet port in response to sensing of alignment of the selected component with the outlet port.

摘要: A two-stage hydrocyclone system for separating oily fluids including a first stage hydrocyclone set up to produce a concentrated oil stream, while the second stage hydrocyclone is set up to optimize the production of clean water from the dirty water underflow stream of the first stage hydrocyclone. The hydrocyclone stages are mounted within a pressure vessel with divider walls, with the first stage producing a concentrated oil stream substantially free of water and a dirty water stream containing some oil. This dirty water stream from the first stage is fed to the second stage to obtain a clean water stream.

摘要: The present invention provides a reverse flow cyclone separator including a container closed at one end, a component for introducing a fluid mixture swirling about an-axis at a region of the container remote from said end, a barrier between said region and said end, the barrier having a surface facing the introducing component and extending towards the outer wall of the container leaving a gap therebetween, and an outlet for lighter phases of the mixture, the outlet opening from the region, the barrier having an outer perimeter which extends in the axial direction a distance not less than the radial extent of the gap. Since the outlet opens from the region, the flow of fluid from the fluid introducing component to the outlet is not obstructed by the barrier and does not pass through the gap.

摘要: A submerged filtering device for separating any mixture of two immiscible fluids having different specific gravities. The filter can be used with either a gravity or pumped in-feed flow, and can be constructed in a range of sizes from easily transportable units to large fixed installations. When separating a mixture of oil and water, the filter operates in an external holding tank of water, which has the higher specific gravity, in which it is nearly entirely submerged. The filter uses a combination of hydro-static pressure and head pressure to exploit the difference in specific gravity of the two fluids, efficiently effecting a separation.

摘要: Primaiy supernatant liquid collector 1 allows blood A to separate into a primary supernatant liquid B and red blood cells by leaving the blood A stationary for a prescribed period of time, and then it discharges the primary supernatant liquid B and physiological saline W in the same amount into a first treatment container 13 and a first balance container 14, respectively. Centrifuge 61 centrifuges the above primary supernatant liquid B using the first balance container 14 as a balance weight, and a secondary supernatant liquid in the first treatment container 13 is transferred to a second treatment container 109 by take-out device 91 and at the same time the physiological saline W in the same amount as the transferred secondary supernatant liquid is transferred from the first balance container 14 to a second balance container 110.
