摘要： A crib apparatus comprises at least one side rail connected to a frame along a bed surface for enclosing the bed surface. A positioning mechanism is provided at each of the side rails for positioning a respective side rail. Each of the positioning mechanisms includes a handle component, a rotatable lock spindle attached to a respective side rail, and a locking component slidably receiving the vertical lock spindle. The handle component is connected to the lock spindle so that it can rotate the lock spindle from a lock position to a release position in order to allow one of the lock pins to be released from the locking component. Each of the positioning mechanisms allows its respective side rail to be positioned in an uppermost position so that a top portion of the side rail is vertically higher than the bed surface, and in a lowermost position so that the top portion of the side rail is substantially at or below the bed surface. Each of the side rails is connected to the frame so that when the side rail is in the lowermost position, a plane including the bed surface is free of impediments thereby allowing unimpeded access to a patient on the bed surface.

摘要： A crib having a drop side that vertically slides between lowered and raised positions includes a guiding and locking mechanism for the drop side, comprising a pair of lower guides and a pair of upper guides affixed to the crib's corner posts, and a plurality of slides affixed to the drop side and slidably engaging the guides. Each guide comprises a plate-shaped guide member and each slide defines a channel in which the guide member is slidably received. One edge of each lower guide member has a recess formed therein, and a resilient locking member integrally formed with the guide is positioned opposite the recess and urges the slide into the recess to lock the drop side in the raised position. Each lower guide also includes a second, lower recess into which the slides are urged by a second, lower resilient locking member for locking the drop side in a lowered position.

摘要： A crib dropside assembly is provided by the invention, including hardware for permitting the dropside to be raised or lowered with respect to a crib. The dropside includes a pin track including relatively long and relatively short, generally vertical segments, and a connecting segment connecting the relatively long and short segments. A pin access slot extends into one of the segments, and has an open end for permitting the entrance of a pin. The pin is preferably coupled to one of the crib endboards. A movable gate is provided for blocking the pin access slot when in a first position and opening the pin access slot when in a second position. An end cap may further be provided for providing access to a second slot formed in the dropside. The end cap may include a glide surface which bears against a crib corner post, thereby allowing the dropside to operate smoothly.

At least one of the four rails is configured to be raised and lowered with respect to the patient support deck and the plurality of coupling members. At least one of the four rails includes a gate that can pivot about a pivot axis. The gate is configured to be released and locked along the pivot axis.

摘要： A crib is provided which includes a dropside mounted to endboards of the crib. The dropside is secured to opposing pairs of tracks. Each lower track includes a pair of generally parallel grooves, one of which extends substantially below the other. The dropside is coupled to the lower tracks by a pair of spring bracket assemblies, each of which includes a laterally extending spring arm. The spring arm includes a continuously curved upper surface. In order to prevent the inadvertent displacement of the dropside, the relatively short groove includes a portion of reduced width. Each spring bracket assembly includes a longitudinally extending pin which may be moved easily through each groove except the groove portion of reduced width. Assembly of the crib is facilitated by coupling one of the spring bracket assemblies to the dropside as the final step of mounting the dropside to the crib.

The apparatus is adjustable in height to align the bedside sleeper with the parents' bed and when used as a changing table to accommodate for differences in the height of the parent. The bassinet is provided with a removable, adjustable hood for shielding light from the baby's eyes. The apparatus comprises a skeletal structure covered with a soft, aesthetically pleasuring and yet sturdy cloth which is easily removable and washable and includes two convenient storage areas.

摘要： A crib including a pair of endwalls and a pair of sidewalls, at least one of the sidewalls being descendable to facilitate placing a child into and removing the child from the crib over the descendable sidewall. The legs support the crib above a generally flat surface and provide clearance between the crib and the generally flat surface, such that the descendable sidewall is descendable toward the flat surface relative to the endwalls. The crib further includes a crib side rail for slidably supporting the descendable sidewall of the crib thereon between the endwalls. The crib side rail is securely retained relative to the endwall by having a portion thereof disposed through an aperture in the endwall and by having a rear portion thereof bent behind the aperture.

The hardware comprises a channel member embedded within the end stiles of the crib side and an engaged coupling element fastened to the adjacent crib end.
