    摘要: An adhesive device for capturing insects includes a thin main body with a mirrored, operative surface upon which an adhesive material is disposed for capturing insects upon contact. The mirrored surface provides a reflection similar to water so as to attract insects, such as mosquitoes, which are naturally drawn toward water. The device may include one or more insect attractants such as odors, pheromones, food, blood, urine, glow-in-the-dark materials and glitter. An opposite surface includes additional adhesive material for affixing the device to an object, surface or area where usage is desired.

    摘要: A restaurant cleaning towel made from a substrate such as a woven, nonwoven, or knit fabric. A sanitizer release polymer composition comprising at least one cationic (or alternatively, nonionic) surfactant is bound to the surface of the towel. Preferably, the cationic surfactant is present in the sanitizer release polymer composition in an amount of about 1 to about 10 weight percent, based on a total weight of the composition. The composition may also include at least one nonionic co-surfactant in combination with the cationic surfactant. The towel also includes a color label on its surface to identify the area of the restaurant in which the cleaning towel is to be utilized. The towel may optionally include an international icon, a tactile label, and/or a label in a plurality of languages identifying the area where the towel is to be utilized.

    摘要: Polyurethane films containing certain silver-based antimicrobial formulations therein are provided. Such formulations comprise antimicrobial compounds, such as, preferably silver-containing ion-exchange resins, such as zirconium phosphate, glass, or zeolite compounds. The inventive films exhibit excellent antimicrobial qualities as well as surprisingly good color characteristics. As a result, antimicrobial films are provided which may be transparent or easily colored without the production of undesirable browning and/or yellowing within the target film.

    摘要: The lees or nulldregsnull produced during wine making are rich sources of antioxidants. Unexpectedly, these materials show significant antibacterial properties as well as antioxidant properties. The lees of red wine which consist of tannins and plant pigments precipitated around crystals of potassium tartarate can advantageously be used directly as a tonic or demulcent. The material can also be used topically for disinfecting the skin, etc. In addition, it is possible to use organic polymers to bind the pigments and/or solubilize them from the tartaric salt to facilitate their use or to make a relatively pure pigment/tannin component.
