Abstract: Ways to lure, contain, and retrieve animals such as snakes are described. A snake lure that may be able to house or enclose an attracted animal is described. Animals such as Burmese pythons are a serious problem for residents of locations such as Florida. Existing traps that use snake pheromones as an attractant have had little success. These snakes typically hunt at night using infrared to locate heat sources such as prey. In addition, snakes may den in warm places. Currently, snakes may be found in locations such as on road surfaces that hold warmth from the sun until after dark. Thus, the snake lure of some embodiments may simulate a den or other warm area as an attractant.

Abstract: An animal trap features entrance encouraging mechanism for urging an animal into an enclosure of the trap. The mechanism features a pushing unit pivotally supported outside the interior space of the enclosure adjacent an access-way that opens into same. The pushing unit is pivotal about an axis generally parallel to a plane of the access-way for movement between a withdrawn position in which the access-way is unobstructed and a working position in which the pushing unit substantially obstructs the access-way. An actuator coupled to the pushing unit is triggered by an animal detection device at an approach area outside the enclosure within a travel path followed by the pushing unit, whereby the pushing unit urges the animal toward and through the access-way into the interior space of the enclosure. A one way gate prevents exit of the trapped animal after return of the pushing unit to the withdrawn position.

Abstract: A casino mentality hog trap assembly is built into a trailer having a frame supported by a plurality of wheels, a hitch for attaching to a towing vehicle, and a platform. A hinged trap floor is located in the platform and is moveable between a horizontal closed position and a downwardly inclined open position for causing animals to fall into a holding pen. A plurality of feeder stations are positioned adjacent to the trap floor. The feeder stations each have feeder lids that can be raised by animals to access feed contained in feeder troughs. A trigger mechanism is arranged to be tripped when two of the feeder lids are raised at the same time. A scent roller is also positioned adjacent to the trap floor and is connected to the trigger mechanism by a linkage that causes the trigger mechanism to be tripped when the scent roller is lifted.

Abstract: A portable, trapping system for capturing and non-lethally retaining a large number of large animals, such as wild horses or feral hogs. A specialized trailer aligns and secures deployable corral components for transportation. The corral comprises a modular fence erected on-site from multiple fence panels that are hinged together by pinning. The fence panels are configured with voids to prevent animal climbing. A circuit controlling a video camera communicates via cellular phone or satellite to remote locations for user-observation and trap control. A gate with a remotely actuated trap door is pinned between adjacent fence panels. The gate comprises a catch controlled by a circuit operated latch for remotely releasing the trap door via cell phone or Internet. A trailer with upper and lower aligned ceiling and floor channels constrains panels for transportation.

Abstract: A trap for capturing a plurality of animals is provided. The trap can comprise an enclosure having an opening through which the at least one animal can pass to enter the enclosure. A gate, movable between an open position and a closed position, is positioned therein the at least one opening and can be selectively moved from the open position to the closed position when desired. Methods are also provided for capturing at least one animal by providing a trap with a gate, positioning the gate in an open position, monitoring the trap until at least one animal has entered the trap, and remotely triggering the gate to move from the open position to a closed position.

Abstract: An animal trap comprised of an elongated conduit, the elongated conduit including an open proximal end, a closed distal end, inner and outer walls, and a slot dimensioned to receive a door therethrough. The door when urged into the slot is dimensioned to substantially encompass a cross sectional area of the elongated conduit. A tension member is coupled to the door for urging the door into the slot independent of gravity or geometric alignment of the animal trap when released by an actuator. Abstract: A large animal trap including a hollow cylindrical shell having a front end opening. A vertically slidable trap door is positioned to close the front end opening. A trigger mechanism associated with the trap door is provided so that when a bear seizes the bait located within the cylindrical shell, the trigger will allow the trap door to fall closing the front end opening. This animal trap is further provided with a pneumatic braking assembly which stops downward movement of the trap door when an object is within the front end opening.
