    Abstract: A stalk roll having twelve flutes extending radially from the main cylinder along the length of the main cylinder. Within the row unit opposing stalk rolls cooperate to engage and capture the corn stalk, thereafter, controlling and processing the corn stalk. The flutes may be configured with differing edges to facilitate control and movement of the stalk to the point of ear separation within the row unit. The flutes may be configured such that opposing compressive forces acting on the exterior of the stalk at approximately 180° of separation operate to implode the stalk while sharp edges on the flutes operate to cut the stalk into small segments which are deposited on the ground for decomposition.

    Abstract: A locking mechanism for an agricultural header includes a rod that extends laterally along the header and a hook coupled to the rod. The rod is configured to rotate in a first direction to transition the locking mechanism to a first position and rotate in a second direction, opposite the first direction, to transition the locking mechanism to a second position. The hook is configured to engage an arm of the header. The arm is configured to support a cutter bar assembly of the header and is configured to rotate about a pivot joint relative to a frame of the header. The rod is configured to rotate in the first direction to engage the hook with the arm to block rotation of the respective arm, and the rod is configured to rotate in the second direction to disengage the hook from the respective arm to enable rotation of the arm.

    Abstract: A harvester row unit includes first and second deck plates having first and second stripping edges which are facing and spaced apart for defining a stalk gap therebetween, first and second gathering chains extending over the deck plates and comprising a plurality of sweeping lugs which traverse adjacent to and along the stalk gap, and one or more kernel brushes secured to the sweeping lugs by fasteners. The kernel brushes can include brush bodies, sweeping portions secured to the brush bodies, and mounting blocks. The sweeping lugs can include lug walls wherein the brush bodies and mounting blocks sandwich the lug walls. Preferably, the kernel brushes are secured to the sweeping lugs by nuts and bolts, and the brush bodies and/or mounting blocks include fastener bores adapted to receive the bolts and fastener slots adapted receive and align the nuts with the fastener bores.

    Abstract: A dual cut header assembly including a header, a chopper suspended from the header, and an actuator system comprising one or more cylinders. The actuator system solely connects the chopper to the header. The dual cut header assembly further includes at least one sensor for measuring a state of the chopper and an actuator steering module connected to the actuator system. The header is configured to be lifted by an agricultural vehicle to cut crop material from a field at a first height. The chopper is configured to cut the crop material at a second height lower than the first height. The actuator steering module is configured to automatically adapt the distance based on the measured state of the chopper.

    Abstract: A divider of a header for an agricultural vehicle including a divider body, a receiving member configured for being connected to the frame of the header, and an adjustable connector positionable in between an unfolded work position and a folded transport position. The adjustable connector includes a first member, a second member, and an articulating joint for pivotally connecting the first and second members. The first member mounts the divider body, the second member is slidably connected to and received within the receiving member, and the articulating joint is at least partially received within the receiving member in the unfolded work position such that the first and second members are substantially immobilized and the articulating joint is positioned outside of the receiving member in the folded transport position such that the first and second members are movable relative to one another.

    Abstract: A control system for an agricultural work vehicle is provided, the control system includes at least one controller, at least one control input device configured to send control signals to the at least one controller, and a header positioning assembly configured to interchangeably couple a plurality of headers to a chassis of a traction unit. The header positioning assembly is moveable between a plurality of orientations with each of the plurality of orientations providing a unique mechanical advantage. The at least one controller is configured to output a plurality of control commands corresponding to the control signals generated by the at least one control input device, and the control commands are configured to effect movement of the header positioning assembly between the plurality of orientations. An agricultural work vehicle is provided and includes the control system.
