Abstract:
A power cutting tool includes a housing, a motor accommodated in the housing, a cutting assembly optionally operated in a trimming mode or in an edging mode and being driven by the motor to rotate around a first axis, a handle assembly, an elongated shaft connecting the cutting assembly and the handle assembly, a guard mounted to the cutting assembly, and a wheel assembly including a wheel. The wheel assembly is optionally mounted at least a first mounting position and a second mounting position. The central axis of the wheel is substantially perpendicular to the first axis when the wheel assembly is mounted at the first mounting position and is substantially parallel to the first axis when the wheel assembly is mounted at the second mounting position.
Abstract:
A treadmill-like device for exercising large animals such as dairy cows. The large animal exercising device includes a hoof abrasion system and treadmill cleaning or flushing system. The exercise device of the invention can also include a cow identification reader for recovering information off of a data storage or identification device attached to the cow, with such information potentially including exercise pace and duration as well as animal routing information after an exercise session is completed.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing physical therapy to animals. In one embodiment, the invention is an animal support apparatus including a base, a first vertical member attached to the base, a first horizontal support member attached to the first vertical member, a second vertical member attached to the first horizontal member, and a second horizontal member attached to the second vertical member. In another embodiment, the invention is a method for providing physical therapy to animals, including the steps of: supporting an animal above a treadmill by means of a harness connected to an artificial support member, and allowing at least one of the animal's feet to come into contact with the treadmill in such a manner that the treadmill aids the animal by exercising at least one leg of the animal. In a further embodiment, the invention is a physical therapy apparatus in combination with a treadmill.
Abstract:
An aquatic treadmill having a housing having a container configured to retain a liquid and sized to contain a horse within the container, a treadmill positioned along a lower portion of the container such that a horse upon entry into the container would stand upon the treadmill, and wherein the container has a decreasing cross sectional area.
Abstract:
A cutting tool is provided for performing a cutting operation The tool includes a cutting blade provided for movement to perform the cutting operation and a guard which covers at least part of the cutting blade. The tool further includes cleaning means, the cleaning means including a cleaning part positionable within the guard and controllable to allow relative movement between the guard and the said cleaning part.
Abstract:
A portable handheld edge cutter (1) has a cutterhead (2) fixed to a guide tube (4). Two wheels (6, 7) are attached to the cutterhead (2). The cutterhead (2) includes a gear unit mounted in a gear housing (8). A first wheel (7) is rotatably journalled on a first end (27) of the gear housing (8). On the opposite-lying end (28) of the gear housing (8), a cutting knife (9) is mounted and is rotatably driven by the output shaft (18) of the gear unit. In order to achieve a simple assembly of the edge cutter (1) and to protect the gear housing (8) against wear, the second wheel (6) is mounted between the gear housing (8) and the cutting knife (9) and that the two wheels (6, 7) are journalled coaxially to the output shaft (18).
Abstract:
Rolling basket structure facilitating movement of the rolling device to and from a field-working position includes arm structure pivotally connected to the aft end of tine support members fixed to the rear of the implement frame. Hydraulic cylinders connected between the support members and the arm structure provides quick on-the-go disengagement of the rolling basket with the ground, for example, when wet or sticky ground conditions or the like are encountered. A cylinder lost motion connection facilitates movement of the baskets over ground irregularities and obstacles without operation of the cylinders.
