Abstract: A trimmer attachment for use with a lawn mower includes a deck mounting plate configured for attachment to the lawn mower, one or more mounting tabs extending up from the deck mounting plate, a curved pivoting arm rotatably coupled to the one or more mounting tabs, a pivoting motor for rotating the pivoting arm, and a trimmer head coupled to the pivoting arm. Rotation of the pivoting arm by the pivoting motor causes the trimmer head to rotate between a stowed position and an engaged position.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an outdoor device, preferably a string trimmer, having a hinged pole for folding the string trimmer. The hinge has an easy to use lock that allows for repeated folding of the trimmer for easy transport and storage. The string trimmer has a battery at a rear end of the pole near the handle, and a motor at a front end on the cutting head. An electrical cable is run from the battery to the motor to provide power to the motor. The hinge provides a protective sheath around the cable to protect it from damage when the string trimmer is folded and the cable might otherwise be exposed. Additionally, the string trimmer includes a guard around the cutting head that contacts a battery housing to secure the string trimmer in a folded position.

Abstract: Cleaning tools are mounted directly to rotary spindles of conventional string trimmers. The cleaning tools have brush channels which extend through one or more sides thereof, with each brush channel having an edge channel and a bristle channel. The edge channels are disposed interiorly within the body of respective ones of the bristle channels. Channel brush inserts are secured in respective ones of the brush channels, and each includes a mounting base and a bristle body. The mounting bases are inserted into respective ones of the edge channels and the bristle bodies extend from a respective one of the mounting bases through the bristle channels, from the one or more sides and exteriorly of the cleaning tool. One cleaning tool has three brush channels formed to extend into a laterally extending sidewall. In another cleaning tool the brush channels are formed to extend into the bottom end surface thereof.

Each mounting device includes a first mounting structure fixed relative to the outer end of the end frame section, a second mounting structure fixed to a portion of the respective bearing housing, and a flexible mounting arrangement between the mounting structures to accommodate variation in lateral positioning of the bearing housings relative to the ends of the flexible frame as the flexible frame flexes over varying ground contours without requiring a telescoping shaft arrangement on the cross auger assembly.

Abstract: A trimmer head for a string trimmer mower, including a trimmer head housing having a string retention portion and a coupler portion rotatably attached to the string retention portion, the string retention portion having a first string retainer for releasably retaining a first cutting string. In addition, the string retention portion has a second string retainer for releasably retaining a second cutting string. The second string retainer is preferably circumferentially displaced on the string retention portion from the first string retainer. In a preferred embodiment, the first string retainer has a slidable clamp disposed in the interior and accessible from the exterior. The clamp is constructed and arranged for sliding relative to the base between a clamping position for selectively retaining the string in place through centrifugal force in the string retention portion, and a release position for user replacement of the first cutting string without tools.
