Abstract:
A planting tool includes a tube element with an inlet end and an outlet end. A ground support is rotatably connected to the tube element via a pivot point and includes a first part with a pedal area and a second part with a hatch area. A mechanism has a first clamp and a second clamp. In an open state the mechanism prevents movement between the hatch area and the outlet end and maintains the hatch area at a distance from the outlet end by contact between the first and second clamp. In a closed state the mechanism prevents movement between the hatch area and the outlet end and maintains the hatch area in contact with the outlet end. The first clamp includes a switch allowing a user to change position of the first clamp to switch the state of the mechanism from the open state to the closed state.
Abstract:
A grass seeding assembly for reseeding a lawn with grass seed includes an insertion tool that has a handle and a cup disposed on the handle. A cone is engaged with the cup on the insertion tool for driving the cone into ground. The cone is foraminous to facilitate water to pass through the cone. A planting mixture is placed within the cone and the planting mixture comprises a chemical fertilizer, grass seed and soil. A mesh screen is wrapped around the cone such that the mesh screen inhibits the planting mixture from passing through the cone.
Abstract:
A tool blade for use with a handle includes a pan having a top surface and bottom surface opposite the top surface, the pan having a top edge and a cutting edge opposite the top edge and having a pair of opposed side edges extending between the top edge and the cutting edge. The top edge of the pan includes a handle sleeve defining a channel configured to receive an end of the handle. The bottom edge is integrally connected to the pan and is sharpened so as to penetrate a ground surface. A plurality of grating teeth is formed on the pan, each grating tooth having a scoop projecting outwardly from the pan and a cutout. A cutout traverses through the pan and defines an opening connecting the top and bottom surfaces. A respective scoop includes a portion partially covering the cutout and having an arcuate cutting edge.
Abstract:
The present invention is a light-weight, single handle post hole digger that can include an outer handle and an inner shaft. The post hole digger can have two blade that are used to cut into the ground and to loosen soil when in an open position and then used to capture and remove soil when in a closed position. A first blade can be attached to the inner shaft by an adjustable pin or bolt and a second movable blade can be connected to the outer handle. A link bar can be connected to the outer handle at a sleeve pivot connection and connected to said movable blade at a blade pivot connection so that when the outer handle is rotated, the blades move between an open position and a closed position. The link bar can be disposed generally orthogonal to an axis defined along the length of the outer handle.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a single handle post hole digger. The single handle of the post hole digger includes an outer elongated vertical handle and an inner elongated vertical shaft that is located within the outer handle. The post hole digger includes two blades used to cut into the ground and to loosen soil when open and then used to capture and remove soil when closed. The single handle configuration allows for deeper holes as the holes do not have to accommodate the opening action of the handles as in traditional diggers.
Abstract:
A post removal system having a base plate, a vertical support plate extending upwardly from a top surface of the base plate, and a handle pivotally attached to a top edge of the vertical support plate via a pivot pin, the handle is positioned atop the vertical support plate such that the vertical support plate is at a point between the midpoint and the first end of the handle, the pivot pin is perpendicular to the handle, the handle can pivot upwardly and downwardly about the pivot pin, and a stake gripping component pivotally attached to the first end of the handle via a hinge, the stake gripping component can pivot upwardly and downwardly about the hinge with respect to the handle, the stake gripping component having a slot in a side adjacent to the hinge, wherein the slot is adapted to temporarily accept a stake.
Abstract:
A sectional control apparatus and method prompts the operator of an implement when the implement, or portion thereof, is traversing over land that has already been seeded and/or disturbed. The apparatus includes a GPS or GNSS receiver that communicates with a GPS or GNSS system and a controller that maps movement of the implement so that real-time positional data for the implement can be compared to the movement map. When the position of the implement, or portion thereof, is detected as moving over previously seeded and/or disturbed land, the controller activates an alert mechanism in the operator cab of the implement to notify the operator that sectional control, i.e., shutting down metering of product or raising the tool bar, needs to be implemented.
Abstract:
A granule dispensing device is provided and includes a chamber having a predetermined volume for housing granules and defining a flow path for a flow of granules, a valve assembly for controlling the flow path, and an actuator configured to actuate the valve assembly for dispensing the granules.
Abstract:
A material dispensing device delivers material directly into the ground. According to one embodiment of the material dispensing device, the device comprises an elongated hollow shaft, a receptacle, a helical flange and on or more openings formed in the shaft or helical flanges. The receptacle is disposed adjacent one end of the shaft for holding material. The receptacle is communicatively open to the shaft such that the material or a liquid-material mixture dissolved from at least a portion of the material can flow from the receptacle into the shaft. The helical flange is secured to the shaft. The shaft and helical flange are configured such that rotation of the shaft and flange causes the material dispensing device to be driven into the ground. The one or more openings formed in the shaft or helical flange disperse the material or the liquid-material mixture into the ground.
Abstract:
A handheld seed planting device including a rule-like seed spacing member with two or more dibbers and a depth marker for facilitating seed planting in terms of the spacing between neighboring seeds and/or their seed planting depth. Dibbers preferably double up as depth markers but a depth marker may alternatively be implemented as a simple depth gauge for clipping onto a seed spacing member.
