    摘要: A machine for cutting a sheet material incorporates a system for clamping the sheet material against an underlying support surface, which system employs linear arrays of clamp units, each unit including a separate clamping member having a head portion with a flat top surface and a peripheral element constructed to engage an edge portion of the sheet material. The clamping members are disposed in spaced relationship along marginal portions of the support surface, an actuator is proveded for effecting movement of the clamping members between release and clamp positions. Because of the construction of the clamping members, the top surfaces thereof will be substantially flush with the surface of the clamped material being cut, thus enabling a cutting head having an associated glide plate to pass thereover, in contact therewith, without substantial interference or impediment.

A biasing unit is engaged between the upper support bar and the finger plates for urging the finger plates downward against the web.

    摘要: An arrangement for cutting stacked sheets of material resting on a bench. A hydraulically actuated holdfast beam descends onto the material to be cut, and the cutter travels perpendicular to the surface of the bench adjacent to the holdfast beam. A sensor operates during the cutting in conjunction with a circuit that controls the holdfast beam, and emits a signal to reduce the beam's holdfast force. The sensor is mounted below the holdfast beam and outside its effective surface that comes into contact with the material being cut. The distance between the sensor and the effective surface of the holdfast beam equals the distance between a lower edge of the holdfast beam and an upper edge of the stacked material that is being cut.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for perforating a plastic film fleader section connecting together a plurality of plastic film bags and forming a pack of saddle bags. The saddle bags are carried on a block with the header on the block and the bags draped thereover. The block is in sliding engagement with a track and is selectively moved in position in the apparatus. A pair of pivotally connected arms are selectively pivotally moved in contact with the plastic film bags pulling the bags generally away from the header and causing the header to become taut. A pair of perforation blades are forced toward the carrying block and through the header simultaneously creating two perforation lines, one line on each side of the header.

    摘要: A wood processor is disclosed for cutting a log into a series of shorter lengths and subsequently splitting the shorter lengths into individual pieces of firewood or the like. The processor includes a carriage for receiving the log. Clamps engage the log from both sides to secure it in the carriage which advances the log into contact with a plurality of parallel rotating saws. After the carriage is retracted a pusher rod moves the cut log pieces along an axis onto a plurality of cradle members, one cradle supporting each log section. The cradle members are tilted to dump the log sections alternately onto opposite sides of the axis of log movement. The logs dumped from the cradles are fed to a plurality of individual hydraulically operated log splitters.

    摘要: A cutting machine for subdividing material lengths comprises a roller table establishing a transport path along which the material is directed to a cutting zone. A cutting head assembly has a cutting blade for cutting material located at the cutting zone. A front vise assembly is fixed adjacent to the cutting zone with first and second jaws arranged in opposed mutually spaced relationship on opposite sides of the transport path. A first jaw operating mechanism is provided for adjusting the spacing of the first and second jaws between an open position permitting movement therebetween of the material and a closed position clamping the material therebetween. A rear vise assembly is mounted on a carriage underlying the roller table. The carriage is movable in opposite directions parallel to the transport path. The rear vise assembly has third and fourth jaws also arranged in opposed mutually spaced relationship on opposite sides of the transport path. A second jaw operating mechanism is carried on the carriage and operates to adjust the spacing of the third and fourth jaws between an open position permitting movement of the carriage relative to the material and a closed position clamping the material therebetween, thereby establishing a fixed relationship between the material and the carriage. A carriage operating mechanism moves the carriage in opposite direction along the transport path.
