    Abstract: A locking mechanism that allows a live bolt lock plate and a primary vertical lock plate to move relative to one another irrespective of the plates connection with a drive mechanism is provided. The drive mechanism includes first and second gears and is used to move the locking mechanism between locked and unlocked positions. The live bolt lock plate has a slot defined therein and is engaged with the first gear of the drive mechanism. The primary lock plate is engaged with the second gear of the drive mechanism and has a guide pin mounted thereon. The guide pin is positioned within the slot to slidingly couple the live bolt lock plate and the primary lock plate, in addition to their connection with the drive mechanism. A tumbler stack is associated with the primary lock plate for selectively allowing the primary locking plate to be moved to the unlocked position.

    Abstract: A motor-vehicle latch assembly has a door latch displaceable between a locked and unlocked position, a housing forming a seat, a lever pivoted on the housing, and a linkage connected between the lever and the door latch for displacement of the latch between its positions by the lever. A lock cylinder can fit in the seat and with the lever and interengaging formations on the lever, housing, and cylinder retain the lever in a predetermined angular position on the housing except when the cylinder is fitted in the seat. The housing is centered on an axis and has an elastically deformable and axially rearwardly projecting tongue having a radially inwardly directed ramp surface. The lever projects radially from the housing and is formed with a radially outwardly open notch receiving the tongue in a predetermined angular position of the lever on the housing. The lock cylinder engages the ramp surface when fitted fully in the seat to deflect the tongue radially outward out of the notch so that until the cylinder is fitted to the seat the lever is prevented from rotating.

    Abstract: In a door lock with spring bolt and dead bolt the lock follower body injection molded from thermoplastic synthetic resin is rotatably mounted in the lock case and resilient in itself without bias and without being influenced by any spring force when by radial movement of the lock follower body a plurality of legs extending therefrom bears against retaining pins and develops spring action by bending.The required spring load on the tumbler is effected by the provision of a free leg at the tumbler which rests unbiased against a stop pin and resiliently bends upon actuation by the key. The mounting of a door fitting at the door panel is facilitated by bores through sleeves provided in the lock case.The inexpensive fabrication permitting at the same time a maximum possible degree of dimensional precision is achieved by making both the lock case and the interior parts from thermoplastic synthetic resin containing no plasticizer. Preferably a polyacetal is used for the interior parts.
