Abstract: Material removal tool (310) with a translating bar (360) having an actuation surface (362) shaped as a cone or frustum, wherein an axial position of the cone or frustum along a length of the translating bar (360) corresponds to a position of a push rod (364) in operable contact with flexibly mounted cartridges (312) on which cutting inserts (316) are mounted is disclosed. Abstract: A rotatable cutting tool has a shank portion for coupling to a tool driving device and a cutting portion to which is attached at least one support member for retention of a replaceable cutting element. The support member is so arranged to permit displacement of at least the portion thereof retaining the cutting element whereby the position of the cutting element relative to the body of the cutting tool may be changed by such displacement. A totally enclosed hydraulic force multiplier is mounted within an internal cavity of the cutting tool. The force multiplier is responsive to a control force to effect the displacement of the support member, the control force advantageously supplied by application of pneumatic pressure.

Abstract: The invention relates to a tool head, especially a fine drill head, comprising a machine shank and a tool shank having a joint center axis, wherein the tool shank has a rigid core and a head with a tool, supported by a parallel spring arrangement and is able to be elastically displaced in relation thereto, said head having several limbs which emanate therefrom and form the parallel spring arrangement, whereby at least one of said limbs is fixed to the core or machine shank. The inventive tool head also comprises a device for radial displacement of the head in relation to the core, comprising a positioning device which has a conical part and is guided inside the core. The conical part bears against a contact part of the parallel spring arrangement under pressure when in use. The core is configured with the parallel spring arrangement in a single piece.

Abstract: In the known, adjustable, single-cutting-edge machine reamers having a turnable cutting plate, the adjusting and re-adjusting operations are awkward and associated with difficulties because, at least as far as adjusting is concerned, adjustments have to be made at two points, and moreover for adjusting to the set desired value it is generally necessary to proceed in a step-by-step manner, gradually working ones way up to the desired value. These problems are due to the fact that adjustment can in principle only be made in the forward direction, that is to say in the direction of increasing diameter, whereas reverse adjustment in the proper meaning of the term is not possible but can only be achieved indirectly by carrying out a new adjustment with a lower starting value and adjusting in a forward direction. These problems and other disadvantages of these reamers are eliminated by a new overall concept employing a turnable cutting plate (3) in the form of an equilateral polygon, said turnable cutting plate being adjustable by means of an adjustable stop and an fixed stop (15, 14) on the polygon-sides (45, 44) of the turnable cutting plate inclined toward each other and a securing screw (17) for the turnable cutting plate acting as a springy restoring element and hence also enabling reverse adjustment to be effected.
