摘要: A one-piece rigid connector allows a nominal construction wood member to slip axially while fixed at its distal end, to accommodate the naturally occurring shrinkage of lumber. The connector surrounds the wood member and attaches to a second wood member to secure the members together. The connector may be slightly larger radially than the first member to accommodate natural movement. In one embodiment, the connector is made of a light gauge sheet metal and attaches a vertical baluster to the horizontal lower deck rail of an elevated wood deck guard rail system. The connector secures the baluster horizontally, but allows the baluster to move vertically to accommodate expansion or contraction of the baluster after construction. The distal end of the baluster is secured using conventional wood screw attachment. The connector includes tabs on each side to allow fastening of the connector to the lower deck rail using conventional wood screws.

摘要: Pipe holders retain a first pipe and a second pipe having a connector cable extending through the second pipe. The pipe holder has a first retaining section that detachably holds and fixes the first pipe and a second retaining section that detachably holds and fixes the second pipe. A guide section communicatively connects the second retaining chamber to outside of the pipe holder, wherein the first retaining section, the second retaining section and the guide section are made of metal, and the connector cable that extends through second pipe and has at least one end to be connected to an electronic musical instrument is guided through the guide section to the outside. A coupling section couples the first retaining section and the second retaining section, wherein the guide section is formed in the coupling section.

摘要: A device for forming a framework of a wooden building including a steel pipe, screw bar, joint, bolt and joint stick. The steel pipe is tightly inserted in a hole formed at the top edge and/or the bottom edge of a vertical post. The screw bar connects two vertical posts in series as an upper half thereof is screwed into a screw hole of a steel pipe inserted into the bottom edge of a vertical post, while a lower half thereof is screwed into a screw hole of a steel pipe inserted into the top edge of a vertical post positioned below the former vertical post. The joint comprises a base portion and a flange portion oriented at a right angle with respect to the from base portion. The bolt passes through a hole of the base portion of the joint and a hole of the vertical post and is screwed into a screw hole of the steel pipe to secure the joint to the vertical post. The joint stick is tightly inserted into holes of transverse member and the flange portion of the joint, joining the transverse member with the joint and thus with the vertical post.

摘要: A system and method to form a medical construct using surgical rods and connectors. A pair of surgical rods such as those used in fusing vertebrae of the spine are attached to each other with connectors to form a medical construct. The connector includes a plate with a pair of double hook bolts which are attached to the rods. The double hook bolts and rods may be used to provide a rigid or semi-rigid medical construct depending upon the attachment of the double hook bolts with the plate. The connector is assembled prior to the surgical procedure and eliminates any need for manipulating small washers, screws and bolts during installation of the medical apparatus within a patient.

摘要: An apparatus and method for securing fittings to composite structures such as those composites formed out of resin-embedded fibers is disclosed. The invention includes the use of support structures wrapped around the fittings such that the support prevents the fitting from movement when a compression load is applied thereto. The support serves to transfer the force of the compression load into the entire body of the composite structure so that the force will be absorbed by the structure. In one embodiment of the invention, the support structure comprises a composite fiber tow formed of high tensile strength fibers impregnated with a matrix material. The composite fiber tow is fibers wrapped around the fittings to form suspension strands. As the matrix material cures the composite fiber stiffens to hold the fitting in place against the composite structure.

摘要: A clip for supporting a construction guide tube on a stringline rod which is adjustably clamped to a ground stake. The clip has a curved saddle shaped in the form of an approximate semi-circle. The saddle is sized to receive and retain the tube with a relatively tight press fit. The saddle is integrally attached to a tubular socket which is part of the clip. The socket has a bore sized for relatively tight insertion on the stringline rod. A method for using a plurality of the clips to form a curved guide is also described.

摘要: A wedge connector for securing the horizontal cross beams of a storage rack to the hollow upright posts of the system. Two ear-supporting members extend laterally from an elongated shank, each of which members carries an upwardly extending welding ear. The wedge connector has a shape and carefully controlled dimensions that make it possible to insert the elongated shank and upper wedging ear into the lower slot of a pair of elongated slots in the upright post of the storage rack. The elongated shank is then pivoted up within the interior of the hollow post into a position where the upper wedging ear can be moved back out of the upper elongated slot of the pair of slots, to place the wedge connector in its operative position. The dimensions of the lower wedging ear of the wedge connector are controlled so that the lower ear can not be inserted in the lower elongated slot in the upright post. The features described produce the advantage of being able to insert the wedge connector from outside a hollow, completely enclosed tubular upright post, while at the same time retaining the advantage of locating the elongated shank on the inside of the post when the connector has been placed in its final operative position.
