    摘要： One end of a stranded steel cable is attached to a cast zinc seal housing having a chamber in which a steel sleeve with a tapered bore is positioned. The sleeve in one embodiment is fixed to the housing in the chamber or may be displaceable and captured in the chamber in a further embodiment. A serpentine clip locking member captured in the housing chamber resiliently radially grips the a second end of the shackle inserted into the sleeve bore and wedges and locks to the cable and sleeve when the shackle is withdrawn. The sleeve precludes damage to the softer zinc housing by the locking member when the locking member is displaced in the housing chamber. Various embodiments are disclosed. In a further embodiment, the one end of the cable exits the housing in a plane different than where the second end enters the chamber to enhance ease of insertion of the second end into engagement with the locking member.

    摘要： A serpentine shaped wire clip is disposed in a tapered bore of a housing for axial displacement in the bore and has in a preferred embodiment three U-shaped loops interconnected by end portions. The clip has a bore dimensioned for receiving a cable or rod in radial resilient compressive engagement along the clip entire length which engagement causes the clip to axial displace with the displacement of the cable or rod. The axial displacement of the clip in the tapered bore wedges the clip to the housing and cable or rod locking the elements. The clip may have any number of loops and wire diameter. Also, the housing may have a cylindrical bore and the tapered region may be formed on a rod or bar. The clip may be locked to smooth and grooved surfaces including threads. The housing and rod each have a different one of a cylindrical surface and tapered surface. The clip radially grips the cylindrical surface while wedging in response to relative displacement of the tapered surface to the cylindrical surface. Preferably the tapered surface is the hardest and the cylindrical surface is the softest when the cylindrical surface is smooth.

    摘要： A seal lock for use on the access doors of freight cars, trailer trucks and cargo containers or other applications requiring a one time use disposable locking device. In the preferred embodiment a C shaped locking body (10) having locking mechanisms within its upper leg member (14) and lower leg member (16) and a locking pin (30) with its first end temporarily held in place by the locking mechanism within the upper leg member (14). The seal lock is positioned over the hasp and the locking pin is pushed with sufficient force to overcoming its temporarily held position and is pushed through the aperture of the hasp until the first end of the locking pin (30) permanently engages the locking mechanism within the lower leg member (16) while simultaneously the opposite end of the locking pin (30) permanently engages the locking mechanism within the upper leg member thereby securing the seal lock in place by means of a double engagement permanently secured locking means. Thus, the present invention provides a unique one-piece seal lock which protects the double engagement locking mechanisms from the direct pressure of a forced entry in a design which can be used on any heap regardless of the hole diameter within the hasp.
