Abstract:
An article of footwear includes an upper defining an interior void and a first cable movable in a tightening direction to move the upper into a tightened state and movable in a loosening direction to move the upper into a loosened state. The article of footwear also includes a tightening grip operable to be moved away from the upper in a first direction to move the first cable in the tightening direction and a cable lock operable in a locked state to restrict movement of the first cable in the loosening direction and operable in an unlocked state to permit movement of the first cable in the loosening direction. A release grip is operable to be moved away from the upper in a second direction to move the cable lock from the locked state to the unlocked state, whereby the release grip is separate from the tightening grip.
Abstract:
A rope locking device which cooperates with the yoke on an archery wrist strap is used to lock a rope which connects an archery release with the wrist strap. The locking device includes a generally cylindrical body portion having a longitudinal axis and a contoured outer surface. At one end of the body portion is a head portion containing a pair of openings for receiving the rope. The rope passes through the openings and along the contoured outer surface of the locking device body portion. When the locking device is wedged into an opening in the yoke, the rope is cinched between the locking device and the yoke to lock the rope in place.
Abstract:
A buckle device includes a female member having a chamber for receiving a strap, a male member having two tabs for engaging into the chamber of the female member and for detachably coupling the female member and the male member together, and a pressing device engaged into the chamber of the female member and having one end pivotally coupled to the female member with a pivot axle, and having the other end for engaging with the strap and for limiting the strap to move relative to the female member, and the tabs of the male member are engageable with the pressing device for forcing the pressing device to engage with the strap when the tabs of the male member are engaged into the chamber of the female member.
Abstract:
A wire lock includes a body having an opening therethrough, a locking member disposed at least partially within the opening, and a biasing device. The biasing device urges the locking member into a configuration wherein a wire passing through the opening is restrained in at least one direction, and may operate in either tension or compression. The locking member may include one or more locking elements that are compressed about the wire through engagement with a wedge-shaped locking section of the body, with the biasing member urging the locking member against the locking section. In other embodiments, the locking member is a locking pin riding on an inclined surface of an elongate slot extending across the body, with the biasing member urging the locking pin against one end of the slot, and the wire pinched between the pin and a body surface opposite the inclined surface.
Abstract:
A rope tensioning device configured to prevent unintentional disengagement of the device from the rope. A jam-cleat arrangement coupled with a closed or semi-closed passageway enables the device to function as a tensioning aid while the user may release the device without it falling off the rope.
Abstract:
An adjustable link assembly for use with a flat cross-section shock cord or other strap formed of elastomeric material. The adjustable link attaches the cord to a load-bearing member, such as a hook or other fitting, which may be formed integrally therewith. The link assembly includes a body member having an entrance/exit passage for the strap, and a sliding crossbar over which the free end of the strap is routed. When the main leg of the strap is tensioned, the crossbar is drawn against a stationary bridge piece of the body member, the crossbar and bridge piece having cooperating sloped surfaces that are angled in a reverse direction from a straight line path from the top of the crossbar to the opening of the entrance/exit passage. The cooperating faces thus force the strap into a reverse bend or kink, which locks the strap in position so long as the main leg of the strap is subjected to tension. When the tension is relieved, the elastomeric material of the strap pushes the crossbar back away from the stationary bridge piece, straightening the kink and releasing the strap so that its length can be adjusted, without the user having to manipulate the link assembly itself.
Abstract:
Cable Support Systems for supporting an object at a desired distance below an overhead beam or other overhead structure are provided. Novel clamps for clamping to the overhead structure are fitted to support cables that encircle objects to be supported by the cable support systems. The novel clamps have internal methods to support the cables. The cables are then encircled around the objects and fixed relative to the clamp. The distances between the object and the clamps may be precisely controlled.

Abstract:
A device for securing an end on a load bearing member in an elevator system includes a socket portion and a wedge portion. The socket and wedge preferably are made from an extruded piece of metal or a formed piece of sheet metal material. A brace member secures the wedge within the socket portion to maintain the wedge, and the corresponding portion of the load bearing member in place within the socket portion. The preferred arrangement includes friction enhancing surfaces on the corresponding portions of the socket and the wedge to facilitate maintaining the load bearing member in place.
Abstract:
A buckle assembly includes a handhold or attachment type of strap system for horse reins, backpack straps, belts, climbing rope, and the like. The female portion of the mating assembly that forms the buckle permits a strap to pass through such that the latchable engagement of the male member of the buckle, upon insertion into the female portion, fixes the position of the buckle by frictionally engaging the strap. At least one or both of the male and female members may also include a loop type-connecting strap that provides a handholding attachment to the buckle assembly. Thus, the placement of the handhold attachment may be varied by the disengaging the male and female members, and sliding the female member along the strap before their reinsertion of the male member.
