    摘要: A belt lacer for connectors of the type having a plurality of wire hooks arranged in a side-by-side relationship includes a base element, and a holding member supported on the base element, and configured to receive and retain therein the belt connectors. The belt lacer also includes a crimping jaw having a pair of crimping jaw members rotatably mounted on the base element for mutual rotational motion, and configured to abuttingly engage from opposite directions the belt connectors retained in the holding member. Means are provided for converging and diverging said crimping jaw members, and a mechanism positively couples the rotational motion of the crimping jaw members relative to the base member.

    摘要: An apparatus for orienting a fastener in a clasping arrangement with a workpiece, the fastener presenting a first leg and a second leg joined by a bight intermediate the first leg and the second leg, comprises a deflector for engaging the first leg and the second leg. The deflector comprises a generally planar surface and a single cavity intersecting the surface in a substantially elliptical opening having a major axis and a minor axis. The cavity has at least a first interior wall and a second interior wall. The first wall slopes from the opening in a first direction toward a depth limit; the second wall slopes from the opening in a second direction toward the depth limit. The depth limit is substantially coincident with one of the first axis and the second axis. The deflector structure and the fastener interact when meeting in response to a driving force by the first leg being deflected along the first wall in the first direction and by the second leg being deflected along the second wall in the second direction.

    摘要: A clip-mounting machine secure a clip by at least one rivet to a belt end. The clip has front and back legs each formed with a throughgoing hole and adapted to embrace the belt end with each leg engaging the respective belt face and a U-shaped bight interconnecting the legs. The rivet has one end formed as a head with an outwardly directed end face and an opposite free end formed with an oppositely directed end face centrally formed with a generally conical recess. The machine has a front jaw formed with at least one guide passage adapted to hold the rivet, a holder on the front jaw for retaining the front leg of the clip thereon with the respective hole aligned with the passage, and a back jaw displaceable between a closed position relatively close to and engaging the back leg of the clip whose front leg is in the holder to compress the belt end between the legs and an open position spaced from and not engaging the clip in the holder. A centering point is provided on the back jaw aligned with the holes of the legs in the closed position. A punch displaceable in the guide passage drives the rivet along the passage, through the hole in the front leg, through the belt, and through the hole in the back leg until the recess fits over the centering point and the free rivet end on the point is upset to form another head.

    摘要: A U-shaped clip has a pair of legs each formed with two holes and with a rearwardly open notch and a bight joining the legs. A stapling apparatus has a die part having a seat shaped to fit one of the bights and having an upstanding guide web snugly engageable with the bight and a forwardly pointing centering wedge engageable in the notch. The apparatus also has a presser part displaceable toward and away from the die part and having a passage in which a staple engaged in the holes of the other leg fits complementarily, and a plunger displaceable toward and away from the die part in the passage of the presser part so that, when the clip is fitted over a belt end and to the die part, depression of the plunger forces the staple through the belt end and through both legs of the clip.

    摘要: An apparatus for lacing together ends of a belt. The apparatus contains a base, a pair of shoulders secured to the base and spaced apart in an aligned relationship. An A-frame member secures to the pair of shoulders. A pair of guide members connect to the pair of shoulders wherebetween a lever is slidably disposed for moving up and down. A pair of springs connect to the A-frame and to the lever for biasing upwardly the lever. An hydraulic jack is preferably provided for driving downwardly the lever towards the base to contact and close a clipper vise lacer containing a plurality of clipper hooks. Upon closure, the clipper vise lacer drives and embeds the clipper hooks into an end of the belt that has been previously disposed in the clipper vise lacer.

    摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for cutting an end of a belt and for clinching belt fasteners to the cut belt end. The apparatus includes a clamp for clamping the belt and a knife carriage driven across the belt to cut the belt end wtih a knife on the carriage. A line of belt fasteners mounted in a comb are then pressed against the belt by a roller which is mounted on a roller carriage for travel across the line of belt fasteners. Preferably, a single, detachable, manual driver or handle is used to drive the knife carriage and the roller carriage.

    摘要: A novel apparatus is provided for riveting belt fasteners to belts wherein a plurality of rivet assemblies are driven simultaneously while aligned and guided by elongated bores of a guide block assembly. An impact distributing driver is employed to transmit impact force from a single hammer simultaneously to a plurality of rivet assemblies held in a guide block above a belt fastener. In the preferred embodiment, all of the rivet assemblies for a particular belt fastener may be driven simultaneously. The preferred driver comprises a metal cap with a plurality of elongated metal drive rods extending downwardly therefrom to be received within the bores of the guide block assembly. The drive rods are cushioned against fracturing at their upper connections to the cap by an elastomeric cushioning material, which is preferably a polymeric plug secured in a recess in the cap. Preferably, the drive rods have upper ends force fitted into bores in the metal cap with the plug surrounding all of the drive rods and allowing the upper ends of the drive rods to flex without fracturing when non-coaxial loads are applied to the driver.

    摘要: An applicator apparatus for securing belt fasteners to belt ends by staples comprises a staple guide block means having resiliently biased pin means for exerting a clamping force to hold the belt end against shifting during the driving of the staples through the belt and the clinching of the ends of the staples against the belt fasteners. The preferred applicator is formed to accommodate various widths of belts by releasably securing a series of separate applicator units each having a staple guide block and secured to a base plate in predetermined and aligned portions thereon. An adjustable cam lever allows shifting of the staple guide block means to accommodate different thicknesses of belts. A gauge pin is eliminated by having shoulder surfaces on the staple guide block means hold the belt fasteners with their hinge pin receiving ends in alignment with one another.
