    摘要: A quick-connect coupling for connecting an exchangeable head to a pressing device has balls K1 with a diameter D1, which are radially movably disposed in a ball-holding part on the pressing device. Balls K1 being held radially fixed in a groove on the head with a depth N1 by a locking ring in the connected state. The head has a further peripheral groove with a depth N2. The further groove is designed to hold part of further balls K2 with a diameter D2, wherein the balls K2 are likewise disposed in a radially movable manner in the ball-holding part and wherein the diameter D2 is greater than the diameter D1. The diameter D1 is the same or smaller than the difference between the diameter D2 and the groove depth N2.

A connecting element receives a steel ball, and the second resilient unit and the hollow tube are coupled to the connecting element. A circular slot of the hollow tube is aligned with the retracting hole, and a wedging slot is formed where the movable inner tube is aligned with inner wall of the elongated rod. Different sizes of screwdriver blades can be replaced from the elongated rod body to push against the resilient units, and the steel ball rolls into the wedging slot.

An actuator sleeve surrounding the shaft includes an internal ramp engaging the ball. The internal ramp includes a shallow ramp portion having a first angle of inclination with respect to a center axis and a steep ramp portion having a second angle of inclination with respect to said center axis of said shaft that is greater than the first angle of inclination. A spring biased plunger assembly is disposed in the bore for biasing a bit received in the bore in a direction toward the insertion end.

    摘要: It is already common in many devices like spanners or pipe wrenches for the pressure between the gripping faces and gripped faces to be related to the torsional load that is applied to turn the gripped object. In these apparatus the grip can be made to relax automatically as the load is removed. The invention relates to improvements in such devices, and to novel designs of mechanical coupling devices that utilise this basic idea. More specifically, the invention firstly proposes a method of improving the performance of an object-gripping tool of the cam-operated gripper-element type, in which method there is applied to the gripper surface a friction-enhancing chemical. And it secondly proposes object-coupling apparatus which includes a body-mounted object-gripper together with a gripper-moving cam device having a cam member that is forced to bear against both the gripper and the body so as to urge the gripper into gripping contact with the object, the resulting friction between the body, cam member and gripper being enhanced by a prior chemical treatment, and so being sufficient to prevent the cam member reversing and the gripper releasing the object so long as force is maintained.
