Abstract: A fire hydrant tool for opening a fire hydrant in a controlled manner includes a cordless tool that has an output shaft and a trigger. A socket is attachable to the output shaft of the cordless tool and the socket has dimensions matching a top nut of a fire hydrant thereby facilitating the cordless tool to open the fire hydrant. A rod is attachable to the handle of the cordless tool thereby facilitating the rod to be gripped for manipulating the cordless tool. A ratchet driver is attached to the rod and the socket is attachable to the ratchet driver when the cordless tool has insufficient torque to loosen the top nut. A prying tool is coupled to the rod and the prying tool has a claw element and a hook element to grip an object for prying the object.

Abstract: A hand tool has an elongated handle, and includes an elastically flexible drive gear along with a plurality of roller members, all supported in a cage member at one end of the handle. In response to selective rotation of the handle, the roller members operate to radially compress the drive gear about a fastener when the handle is rotated in a direction that imparts a torquing force to the fastener. The hand tool provides a haptic and audible ratchet feedback when the handle is rotated in a direction opposite the first direction to untorque the fastener.

Abstract: An open-ended ratchet wrench includes a wrench body, an open-ended wrench head coupled on a first distal end of the wrench body, and a handle disposed on a second distal end of the wrench body. Abstract: A reversible wrench includes a handle and a carrier arranged on the handle. A torque transmission assembly is arranged in the carrier. The assembly includes an inner driven member having an inner, outwardly facing bearing surface and an outer driving member having an outer, inwardly facing bearing surface, the driven and driving members being arranged in the carrier about a common rotation axis and the surfaces being spaced from each other. A selector is positioned between the bearing surfaces. At least one motion transfer device is positioned between the bearing surfaces. The bearing surfaces, the selector and the at least one motion transfer device define at least two roller bearing passages. At least one roller bearing is positioned in each passage. The roller bearings can be shifted between a tightening condition in which the roller bearings lock the bearing members together for tightening rotation of the carrier and a loosening condition in which the roller bearings lock the bearing members together for loosening rotation of the carrier. Opposite rotation of the carrier with respect to the tightening and the loosening rotation, respectively, unlocks the roller bearings to permit freewheeling of the carrier during the opposite rotation. The selector and the at least one motion transfer device are configured so that the selector is operable to shift the roller bearings between the tightening and loosening conditions, via the at least one motion transfer device. A biasing mechanism is operatively arranged with respect to the roller bearings so that the roller bearings are unlocked against a bias of the biasing mechanism during the opposite rotation and are driven back into one of the tightening and loosening conditions upon ceasing of the opposite rotation.

Abstract: A single piece housing surrounding individual ratchet key segments providing a clamping ratcheting wrench that is capable of being opened and closed without slipping the wrench over the end of a nut to be tightened or loosened. This wrench overcomes many problems because it may be used on a nut that is in a very tight position where a traditional wrench would not fit, nor would a conventional wrench be capable of ratcheting. The ratchet is effected by individual ratchet segments that are held in place when the wrench is opened. One of the true advantages of the various aspects is that the ratchet can be opened and closed once the ratchet segments are aligned, such that the segments are secured in place to allow the wrench to be opened up without having all the segments fall out of the wrench. A first aspect of the invention discloses an interlocking ratchet piece design, while a second aspect of the invention discloses another ratchet piece design with structural channeling to secure the ratchet segments in alignment so that the segments do not come out of the wrench.
