Abstract:
A system is described herein comprising a diverter valve operable to divert at least a portion of water flowing through a first water line to a first volume; a first float valve controlling water flow from a second water line to a second volume; and a second float valve controlling water flow from the first volume to the second volume.
Abstract:
The device is especially intended for a pipe supplying a fluid which must be supplied, simultaneously or alternately, with another fluid. The device comprises a tank for a control fluid which surrounds the vertical supply pipe and in which a permanent magnet moves in accordance with the amount of control fluid contained in the tank. The magnet shifts a valve member inside the supply pipe so that the valve member closes the latter in one of the end positions of the magnet. The magnet is rigid with a float which freely extends around the supply pipe. The device can in particular ensure that fuel is supplied to an engine only if oil is supplied to the latter.
Abstract:
An adjustable-flow floating weir assembly is provided for regulating the flow of liquid out of a basin which receives a constant or variable flow of liquid. The weir assembly communicates with the exterior of the basin and has notches through which liquid from the basin flows into the weir assembly. The buoyancy of the weir assembly can be changed to correspondingly vary the vertical position of the weir assembly relative to the liquid level in the basin to thereby regulate the flow of liquid through the notches into the weir assembly and to the exterior of the basin.
Abstract:
A make-up water valve directs make-up water into a delivery conduit whenever the water level in a cooling water sump falls below a predetermined level. The delivery conduit has a venturi for generating suction in response to make-up water flow. A feed tube which is supplied with liquid chemicals is coupled to the suction region of the venturi for feeding chemicals into the make-up water, and a water bleed-off valve is simultaneously operated by the suction. The feed tube includes a valve seat and a float valve thereabove. An adjustable stop limits the height to which the float valve may rise, thereby defining a metering gap between the bottom of the float valve and the valve seat for metering the amount of chemical fluid which is drawn into the venturi during each charge of make-up water.
Abstract:
In liquid mixing and distributing apparatus a unitarily formed tank provides a first compartment for receiving a primary liquid and a second compartment for receiving a secondary liquid. Float means in the first compartment serves to control the introduction and release of primary liquid into the first compartment. The same means also interconnects with a piston which is positioned to be immersible in the secondary liquid. By this interconnection, rise of liquid in the first compartment lowers the piston into the second compartment causing a metered portion of its liquid content to overflow into the first compartment, where admixture of the two liquids occurs. Adjustable blocking means are provided for limiting the degree of immersion of the piston and thus varying the quantity of secondary liquid which is displaced into the first compartment.
